How do I get my old ringtones onto the EVO?

I have about 125 ringtones that I used on my iPhone that I want to put on my EVO. I converted them all back to MP3 already and they are in a folder I named "Ringtones." I put the folder on my Phone in the root section. How do I access them as a group to pick them as a ringtone?

My EVO is running 2.1 and is NOT rooted.

I put mine in Media-Audio-Notifications. Once they are there, go to whatever you want to change the ringtone to (messages, email, phone) and they should show up. Keep in mind they need to be DRM free, coming from an iphone they may have drm.

Nah, I made these from my own collection in Audacity... Imma try and report back in a few...

You might want to create a folder inside the audio folder for the ringtones you want for your contacts and your the phone ringtones. Just call it ringtones. I had to do this for my phone. For some reason the notification folder only worked for my texts and voicemail.

It worked for system wide notifications but not for contacts. Thanx for the help though!

in your sdcard, make these directories:

[sdcard root]\media\audio\ringtones\notifications\alarms

Any sound file you put in ringtones, notifications, or alarms will cause that sound to be available for all three types. If you prefer to isolate sounds to just the ringtone (or notification, or alarm) folder, create your folders like this:

[sdcard root]\ringtones\
[sdcard root]\notifications\
[sdcard root]\alarms\

Then put the sound file in the appropriate folder.

Keep in mind that when you have your sdcard mounted as a disk drive, you won't see any of your custom sound files in the menus. If you want them to always be on the menu, you need to put the sounds alongside the system sounds. For that, you'll need to use adb and have a NAND-unlocked phone.
