Problems Retrieving Photos

I am new here and was hoping for some help with my Eris. I have 30 photos on my phone. When I click on the icon that says photos nothing happens. It just goes to the screen where you would be able to flip through your photos but nothing comes up. Then after about 3 minutes I get a box that says "Sorry, Activity Photos (In application Photos) is not responding. Force Close or Wait"

If you hit wait nothing happens if you hit force close it just takes you back to your home screen.

This use to work fine with no problems then one day I clicked on photos to show someone a picture and this happened and it has been happening ever since. It's been about 3 weeks.

Any ideas what happened or how to fix it so I can see my photos again.

Can you access the photos if you mount the phone to the computer? Do you have anything else on the SD card that you can access, like music? Have you tried any of the other photo viewers in the market?

I haven't tried to connect it to the computer. I just checked and yes I am able to access my music which is on the SD card. Any suggestions on what other photo viewer to try?

I would try viewing them while connected to the computer first, just to make sure they aren't corrupted or anything. If you can view them then search in the market for gallery or photo gallery and see what is out there. I found Photo BURST Demo when I searched on Androlib, but it was just a quick search.
