Got the final OK to purchase DX, just need that final push

Aright, so I got the final ok to use my dad's upgrade for me. I would purchase the Dx via verizon and set it up to my number. I just need that final push, perhaps from this forum.

I want a phone that is a good phone (shocking, but it's true---I want to make calls!), good ability to use the internet, good email capability, maps, gps, apps that provide useful information on the go, camera (not earth shattering pics/vids, but good nonetheless), and maybe listen to music/watch videos(not too worried about this at all).

Reading all that, I assume you approve the Dx to be used for what I mentioned above...right?

Also, I am a PC owner and a Mac owner---can I only use it with one computer at a time--ie will i have to reformat it (like an ipod) if I plug it into my PC one day and my Mac the next?

Thanks again.

It's really not that hard of a decision.

Does the phone have to be on Verizon? Do you want to buy a phone now (or in the next couple of months).

If yes to both, then really the only choices are the Droid X, Incredible and Droid 2 (coming soon). I guess their Galaxy S version, Fascinate, is an option too, but haven't seen rumors of release date on that yet.

Only reason you'd really want the Incredible over the Droid X, is if you thought the Droid X was just physically too big (which few people think is the case). Droid 2 has a physical keyboard, so if that's important to you (I'm not sure why it would when these large screened phones are easy to type on the screen), you might consider it.

Good for you, I really like the fact that I can use my phone as a USB storage device, so there's no worry about formatting for different computers. When I want to put music on mine, I just make a folder called Music, and then I drag and drop from my pc to my phone and that's it. There's never any worry about syncing, formatting, etc. It just works :)
