Wondering if anyone has the stock Droid X launcher icons, they appear to be larger than all the rest and I kind of like then so I might try to use them with LP. Does anyone know what the dimensions of these icons are and where I can get them? I am referring to the icons circled in red below:

Nevermind, found them. They are located in BlurHome.apk in the res\drawable-port-hdpi\ folder, if anyone is looking. There are larger landscape version in res\drawable-land-hdpi\

The dimensions are 72x72 for the app drawer icon and 153x77 for the phone and contact icons.

I tried doing something similar with LP but it kept shrinking the icon size. Were you able to keep their larger size?

Sorry I missed this, yeah LP shrinks the icons for me every time, I've been looking for a workaround, but haven't found one yet. The moto phone and contacts icons are wider than the app drawer icon which is why they're spaced so nicely but LP shrinks them all down so that 5 icons will fit in the dock. because the phone and contacts icons have nonstandard sizes of 153x77 lp doesn't quite know how to resize them and does what it can to make them fit causing them to be so tiny. I've also noticed that the lp icon dock row height is not quite as tall as the stock moto dock row making the app drawer icon smaller as well.

Seems like the only way to fix this would be to make LP increase the height of its dock row and maybe find the code that resizes the icons. I'm pretty good with XML, code quite a bit of it in my day job and I've been digging into the apk file, but honestly I'm still learning how everything works, but I like the stock moto icons enough to keep trying......

Can you give the full path and what tools you used? I'm guessing some rooting was involved.

Thx

You don't need root to change your dock icons if you have a 3rd party launcher like LauncherPro or AWB. However you would need root if you want to get the stock moto icons directly from your DroidX, they are in the /system/app/BlurHome.apk file. BUT you should be able to find a system dump if you search some of the android forums and then get the icons from the dump. To get at the icons, just open BlurHome.apk with winzip or 7-zip, It's just an archive file with a different extension. Once you open the file, look in "res\drawable-port-hdpi\" for the portrait icons and "res\drawable-land-hdpi\" for the landscape versions. Copy them to your \dcim\Camera on your SD card so your launcher can find them. Have a look at the sticky at the top of the page for more info on how to change your icons.

Fabolous has posted X themed versions of ADW and LP. His LP uses the stock X app drawer icon which, to the best of my knowledge, is the same size as on the stock X UI. He didn't add the other two stock dock icons (I don't think), but it's closer to what you want than you've got at present.
