hii buddy

where can i get the source code for android applications

Can't agree more....there's a real shortage of decent calendar apps for Android that are well integrated into a SINGLE, slick or polished app/widget.

FYI, I'm testing out the paid "Pure Calendar" widget on my Sprint Hero. The only key advantage it seems to have over the native HTC calendar widget is the text-only (sigh) WEEKLY LIST (aka "agenda") of everything in the next seven days. However, it's neither layered nor graphical, so it's not useful for looking for free time slots (i.e., like the Palm Pre's nice layered weekly view is). And I cannot get it to show anything other than the next seven days....cannot move to any week one wants.

Clicking on it will bring up whatever default app one tells it to use for full calendar functionality.

The same guy also has the "Pure Grid Calendar" widget. That has an option to show a monthly view with an "event timeline" that sort of tries to show event length and free time on a given day....not quite as nice as what I was hoping for, but getting there.

In my mind, one almost has to buy BOTH this guy's apps to get an Android calendar that's even close the Pre's....with both of them installed, one can at least see a text listing of the next seven days, and then jump to the other one to get SOME visual idea of free time (anyplace there's no horizontal event timeline is free time...). Much more of a pain than a single app that offers both.

Basically, I want THIS for Android....

http://www.palm.com/us/assets/images/products/phones/detail/pre/gallery/CalendarWeek.jpg
http://www.palm.com/us/assets/images/products/phones/detail/pre/gallery/CalendarDayAll.jpg

...you can't tell from the month view image, but on the Pre, the shading is slightly colored to go with each calendar one has. Man, what a nice job Palm did on that calendar app...

I spent many hours with my new LG Ally yesterday searching for and trying various Market apps to get a better calendar, wanting repeating alarm sounds and to see the text of reminders on the calendar. I settled with Calendar Pad and a utility called Calendar Snooze, which seriously improves upon the reminder alarm and snooze settings. It interacts with the default Calendar settings, so would also work with "front ends" other than Calendar Pad I think.

Calendar Snooze finally makes my calendar usable. To the person that wanted a reminder 5 minutes before and then again at the time of the event, you can do that with this app (and more).

Exactly, a very good, 2 column week overview, in readable format.

CalenGoo does this perfectly, on the IPhone :(

PureCalendar, CalWidget, and the others I have seen on Android are disappointing for REAL LIVE use, at least for BUSINESS USE

Also, entering an appointment is terrible in most calendars.
a decent date and time chooser would help a lot.
AnCal does a good job, but seems to have no connection to the real google-calendar.

Jow, I looked at CalenGoo on their website and I just started drooling. That app is SICK! I agree with you that it is EXACTLY what a calendar app should be. The good news is that I emailed the developer and asked them to make a CalenGoo android app and they emailed me back saying they are already working on it! They added me to their email list and will let me know when it is available in the android market. Soon it will be time to rejoice!!! :)

Did anyone find out a way to do this??? my wife and I want to share our calendars thanks

got this off the Google help site:

To share your calendar with specific users, follow these steps:
  1. In the calendar list on the left side of the page, click the down-arrow button next to a calendar, then select Share this calendar. (Alternatively, click the Settings link at the bottom of the calendar list, then select a calendar and click the Share this calendar link.)
  2. Enter the email address of the person you want to share your calendar with.
  3. From the drop-down menu, select a level of permission, then click Add. (Once you click Add, the person you selected to share the calendar with will receive an email invitation to view your calendar.)
You can currently share your calendar with up to 75 users per day. If you'd like to share your calendars with more users, please wait 24 hours before trying again.

hope that helps :)

Right now I'm making due with Jorte, The Agenda Widget, and Astrid tasks. I haven't yet settled on a Notes app, and have 3 Banana Noted, Note Everything, and Color Notes all on my Droid, haven't been able to decide which to stick with. The Agenda Widget, used with Launcher Pro, scrolls nicely to give a view of upcoming appointments (and tasks from Astrid). This will have to do (until the real thing comes along) for now.

Egad, 4 pages each with 50 posts is a bunch to read through. I saw this video on youtube, YouTube - Android 2.2 on the Evo 4G, if you look at 6:30 you can see a calendar widget which shows the entire month. I even imagine the current date is highlighted. Anyone know if us AT&T Captivate users could have some similar application?

I'll eat my phone possibly if someone posted such an app on the pages I have yet to read!

Thanks for recommending this app. I downloaded it and now my calendar works a lot like my Outlook calendar. I typically will set a birthday reminder for a week before the birthday to give me time to buy a present. With Calendar Snooze, I can now have the reminder go off and set it to remind me again in 1 day. If I have bought the present within that day, I can dismiss the reminder once it pops up again. If I did not have time to buy the present, I will be reminded and can then have it repeat the reminder for 1 day.

Well you get the picture. I really do like this kind of feature.

Actually the best Calendar App I have found is the one that comes with LauncherPro Plus.

I agree 100%! My only issue is that I use the calendar version that takes up the whole page. I tried switching to using 5 icon rows and when I do that, the calendar stays at 4x4 and as a result, I see fewer of my upcomming appointments. I am not sure if I am overlooking a setting to allow the calendar/agenda to take up the entire screen when using the 5 icon rows.

I'd have to say there is no "best" calendar app. "Best", to me, implies better than good, and I've not found any Android calendar app that rises to the level of "good." Bad / weak apps aplenty; mediocre, a few; acceptable, only if you're calendar needs are very basic. I make do with a combination of Jorte, iRT and Gemini, but even combined they don't match up to the stock calendar in PalmOS, and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence with Datebk5 or 6.

And it would actually be ideal to have something like this under Launcher Pro. I currently use Jorte but HTC stock calendar is the best (IMHO).
Just did a fast web search and saw an app called Pure Grid which looks like it'll do the trick. Again I have to say it pains every cell in my body to pay for such an app, no matter how low cost it is.

If I get fustrated enough I may purchase it to see what it looks like.

Well today I went crazy and bought the Pure Grid calendar app. And I must say it does allow a full month view calendar as a home screen. However I'm a little upset at having to buy something to gain this function. There are still many options to dig into just to make it work for my needs.

However, in other news I saw this page:
iambic acquired by SplashData, Agendus coming to webOS and Android | PreCentral.net
