Google Maps update 4.4.0

All updates subsequent to version 4.1.0 (released with the EVO) doesn't allow you to clear your past trip directions from the Layers menu. With 4.1.0 you could DELETE your past trips by the Clear Data button in Applications. All subsequent updates only let you Uninstall Updates thus rolling back to 4.1.0

Just more junk in the EVO's trunk.

Anyone know how to turn on the 3-D maps? the places app is kind of a faster way to search.
As best I can tell, you touch the Navigation icon in your app drawer. That takes you to the Navigation home screen. Then tap the map icon in the upper right. I haven't tested it yet, but I believe it will go into 3D perspective mode as soon as you start moving. It's basically a way for you to use the Navigation map view without choosing a destination.

Sweet. Thats it. I know its kind of lame but it is one of the things the droid x did that our Evo didn't

Add me to that list...

Was Satellite View always available in Navigation? Also, playing with it I was briefly able to get a 2D view which I prefer for navigating, but I haven't been able to recreate that yet...

I got it to go to 2D by turning on the traffic layer, then turning it off and stayed in 2D. Haven't played with it much more...there might be another way.

That's the same way it worked for me the first time too. Now whenever I select traffic it zooms way out, and tapping the arrow to get the focus back to my location takes me back to the normal 3D view. I can only get the 2D view when just viewing the map, not when I have a destination set.
