Help DINC takes forever to charge!

Is it just me or does it take FOREVER to charge? I've tried USB and wall charger and I feel like it's like watching paint dry. I'm not hating on my phone or anything, just something I noticed.

Compared to what? It should take between 2-3 hours for a full charge from 15% on the OEM wall charger or a third party rapid charger. Probably 2x that via USB.

There should be sufficient current to charge the phone, even during use, though using your phone while charging will simply slow down the rate. If your phone won't charge or discharges while using it plugged in, you have a problem. I haven't tried it on the lower current USB, but streaming Pandora via 3G and pushing it to my car stereo via bluetooth while using GPS with google maps/nav, I can still charge my battery with a 1A charger in the car. It takes longer to charge, though.

The past few Android phones I've owned, I've noticed they actually charge up very quickly.

The USB charger, obviously, is supposed to take about 1.5 times longer to charge. How long does it take to charge from, say, 10% to full capacity? "Slow" is relative. It wouldn't take me more than an hour, which is obviously more than "1% a minute."

The absolute fastest way to charge your phone is to power it down and then charge it. No joke, full capacity from 5% shouldn't take more than 45 minutes.

This is from my experience, btw. I have never had an issue with a slow charger.

It should take twice as long since it's half the current.

My experience is that a nearly dead phone (sub 10%) will charge in under 2 hours from the included wall charger. It doesn't take long for 1000mA of current to replenish a 1300mAh battery. If you have an extended battery, of course it takes longer.

On an HTC charger I owned, it said "two hours through AC and 3 hours through USB. I never stopped to do the math, but that's what I was basing it on.

Just shooting out a ballpark number, on the wall charger mine probably averages about 1% per minute when on but not being used. On USB it will take longer to charge (500mA vs 1A with the wall) Under heavy use it is possible to even lose charge while plugged in to USB.

Yeah I went on a 2hr drive with navigation and slacker radio all running and getting the ocassional text/call and after 2hrs with it pluged in , it only was 4 % higher then when I started

That was probably an older charger. It probably put out about 700mA like most of the last gen chargers did. That would make the math be right. My Incredible takes very nearly four hours on USB, but will be done under two hours on the OEM charger.

I bet that's my problem, I'm using an old Motorola Krave charger!
