Help Screen blanking Issues When In Phone Call

I have had my incredible since early May. I have not had any or many real issues. I love my phone and my phone loves me...except. The only thing I have run across that still just drives me nuts (some say that for me this is really no drive, only a short putt) is the way the screen will blank during a call even when I remove it from my face to try and input something or sometimes even to end a call. Has anyone else had significant issues with this and solved it? It is so very frustrating to be holding your phone in your hand in front of you and the screen keeps going off while trying to do something. I really don't want to fix my phone where the screens stays lit through a call no-matter-what because I do have to make some lengthy calls at times. Any suggestions appreciated whether they solve my problem or not.

Oh, and another thing.... Can anyone who has done the leaked 2.2 update tell me whether there is any difference in the way the phone acts regarding this matter? I'm currently in the mode to wait for the official OTA to take place but might be persuaded it this would help my issue.

I don't really have an issue with it. But you can use an SwitchPro widget and set one of the switches to "Screen always on" and then it only turns the screen off when your face is close to it. When you pull it away it stays on forever no time out.

I will try this but I suspect it is not a problem with the screen timeout function because I have the screen timeout set to two minutes. [Thinking] Then again has this been happening only after I've been on a call for more than a couple minutes?...hrmm. Thanks, I'll look into it.
