Not from source, but now that I have a kernel to use, I plan on getting my sh*t together and start downloading the source.

Until then, here is something.

Why spend the time removing the crapware and applying fixes when its already done for you.

This is nothing special. It doesn’t have a fancy name like SkyFroyo, Refrozen, or whatever. The build.prop doesn’t say by “insert name”.
This is just a rom I use for myself that I thought others may, or may not, enjoy. This rom has NOT been heavily tested.

There is not a question as to whether you should wipe before installing, just dooooooo it.

OTA leak must be installed prior to this rom if you want working camera and camcorder.

Changes from stock leaked Froyo:

Market fixed!
Gmail fixed!

Added default Droid ringtones and notification.
zipaligned.
Stock messaging app from Cyanogenmod. All credit to Cyanogen and team.
Stock Email.
Stock Gallery.
Stock Car Mode.
Stock lockscreen.
Stock Music app.
Stock Calendar.
Launcher Pro is now the standard launcher.
Removed all the HTC Sense I could without errors. Only a few things remain (Dialer, Contacts, Weather, HTC Keyboard).
Removed Google Maps, can be reinstalled from Market.
Removed Flikr.
Removed lame Verizon drivers prompt when connected via USB.
Removed visual voice mail and all icons associated with it (including voicemail icon in app drawer).
Removed backup assistant (do not try to setup from setup wizard!).
Removed 3g hotspot (Included working wifi tether app).
Removed skype.
Removed my Verizon app.
Removed city ID properly.
Wake on trackball added.
Removed amazon mp3.
Busybox installed.
Superuser 2.2.2 installed.

Runs lean...about 265-285mb of ram free on boot from install.

Nice dude!!!!!

This is all I really wanted. Plain old 2.2.

You going to post this over on XDA too?

Also, what's the VM heap size in this ROM? If it's 24m, any chance you can crank that up to 32+?

Edit: P.S. I can't wait to see your finished ROM. We seem to have similar taste, and I have a feeling it'll be my favorite.

I will crank it to 32M, sure. Look for patches in the first post today. Its so easy to make the patches, it makes more sense than a new rom upload. Patch uploaded.

No, I won't post this at xda, mainly because I feel more welcome here . That and I don't want to monitor multiple sites.

Have you had any issues with wifi tether working? I can connect and see the app transferring data but I can't get internet access on my laptop.

Yes, I am :(

Its not handing out an IP address to the clients.

I will look into it, but Im not sure whats doing it. Can someone verify that it works correctly on stock Froyo? It might have to do with the fact I removed 3G Hotspot.

I tried. Unfortunately, you are right, it breaks things all over the place.

See, all of the htc framework is still in place. While that is still the case, certain things cannot be removed or switched. Thats why some things get left behind.

Honestly, I just see this rom as a stop over until Koush resolves the remaining issues with cm6.
