There are a couple of threads about Tapatalk being disabled (http://androidforums.com/site-updat...talk-support-has-been-pulled.html#post1137299) and an AF replacement coming along sometime soon.

This poll/thread is more about the numbers; I'm hoping that over a week or so we'll get some idea as to how many AF members have used that utility here and how many just never needed to.

Can't say I have, quite often pop on here on my Desire to check out things to read but forum wise for me nothing beats a desktop/laptop and full size keyboard I'm old fashioned that way and not only that but for 75% of the time I have access to a full size keyboard so it doesn't make sense for me to abuse my data on forums when I can use it for entertainment and media when I am on the move.

The admins here deactivated it due to exploits detected.

No, but only because I got my Android just in time to briefly play with the Tapatalk trial version for a day or two before it was disabled here. I don't think I'd even used it here yet by that time...

Unfortunately not. I would have used it though, but it was already disabled by the time I got around to using it.

if you have never used it, you dont know what you have been missing, I wonder how bad the security issue could have been, being that XDA still uses it and that board is full of devs and hackers! they never had an issue

Are you sure of that? I don't know and haven't asked or seen a post about it.

It seems, though, that the fact of so many expert hackers at XDA forums would help answer a question as to why no Tapatalk exploits (or any other exploits, for that matter).

Sort of like the rarity of conflagrations at fire departments.

its still available in tapatalk and has never been removed. I use it there all the time. Im sure if there was they would have said something or removed it as well. im all over that forum, well in the nexus area. daily and never had an issue accessing it. along with about 4 other android forum sites. all available still on tapatalk.

Sadly I miss it. I used it all the time. Especially if I wanted to catch up on reading up on the threads. For Mod work, I would then go to a pc or my laptop. But it came in handy while in bed, or in the car parked, at the beach etc and crusing the forums.
I still use it (the pro versin) on xda-developers, and automotiveforums my other mod site and we haven't had an issue. But I will have to just wait to see what we come up with. Knowing how slow things are in delevoping apps, i doubt it will be anytime soon.
