Kyler, another question. Does your stereo support controlling the iPod via the connection? If so, does it still work for your phone over bluetooth.?
I actually have a Neo Prolink (same as the USA Spec) with a cable that connects to my CD changer port on my factory unit. It has limited control support and I'm able to advance tracks on my iPod Touch. Unfortunately, with the Sprint Anycom FIPO connected, if I try to advance tracks it boots the bluetooth connection, reconnecting after about 15-20 seconds. But when it boots the connection, it switches to the phone speaker which was annoying when first driving down the road testing this thing out. Needless to say, I don't advance tracks through my factory head unit. Now, I'm not certain what commands A2DP does/doesn't support, but it could be my aftermarket set up. Uncertain.
You can connect your headset and the FIPO at the same time. I imagine bluetooth supports multiple connections, but I confirmed this with the fact that I put my phone in my car mount and I connect both my headset and the FIPO every morning before I pull out of the driveway. Now, I'm not certain if you're asking anything more specific. I typically listen to Pandora and lose my data on a phone call. For the sake of testing, I switched to Doubletwist player and played an mp3, then initiated a call. The music paused when I initiated the call and auto-resumed after I hung up. I guess this is no different than listening on your headphones and receiving a call (I should have realized this already). Plain and simple, from a phone feature standpoint, you can't talk on the headset while music is streaming.
Does that answer your questions?
Edit: Uh, I might have misinterpreted your second question. My car doesn't have hands free bluetooth call support. It's a 2001 Civic for crying out loud.
This and A2DP are a must for my next vehicle, though.
Edit 2: BTW, I'm impressed with the ability of my phone and/or this little adapter to maintain a connection. I've read complaints about certain plain ol' usb laptop bluetooth adapters not fairing well when an object comes between it and a connected device. I have a pretty long ipod connector cable so I basically tried putting the little FIPO adapter on the back seat floor, passenger side with my phone up front and down low to the left of my steering wheel. With basically myself and a car seat in between, it did not impact the connection at all.
