Help My one and only one problem with my Dinc..

this is an interesting issue i was thinking about just recently.

Everyone is so excited to buy that new 8, 10, 15mp camera, but they fail to realize the amount of space those photos will take at high res! Think of the storage we are going to need in a few years!

It also directly relates to bandwidth. A photo taken using a phone used to be a little thumbnail taking up like 9kb lol .... now they can be 8mb?? No wonder our networks are clogged haha

But back to your video, i havent tested this myself but it makes sense that they would limit it to 10sec clips, even on the lowest setting it will still be pretty large, compared to the old days i guess.

But yea 10sec clips are useless, i agree something should change.

and now im rambling, so ill stop hehe

I love taking goofy little videos and sending them to friends. with my ol junky flip i could do 30+ sec. no problem. with the Dinc even at the lowest setting it only goes around 10 sec otherwise to large to send:(

any work around this ??

Like Framcire said, lower the resolution. I did that the first time I tried sending a video and it has worked fine ever since. I haven't timed how long mine are, but they are well over 10 seconds. :)

you can only send 1.2 mb over MMS so whatever res gets the most for 1.2 mb is all you can send im afraid, easiest way around it is attach the video to Gmail, which can send 25mb as max size :)

I know its lame, but all you can do im afraid.

It has however always been like this but with a lame vga camera the video would be longer as still under 1.2 mb...

It forwards to email, so people would need email on there phones, but i'd say 60% or more people do now :)

I told you it wasn't a fix more of a work around :p but it works ok, other then that upload to qik, youtube facebook or something, and share a link :)

But MMS will only send 1.2 mb MAX, always has on any Verizon phone...

Hmmmm that doesn't sound right. I have my camcorder resolution set to WVGA (800 x 480) and I took a 60 second video and was able to send to my wife without any problem, I only did this to test it right now. I'm running 2.2 don't know if it makes any difference.

Thats weird because when you go to a message and attach a video and record it from the it sets the res to 320x240 and counts down from 60 secs to 0, so gives you a minute of video on that setting, which is exactly 1.15 mb

Also just tested
