Customize Lock Screen

Hi everyone,

I was curious if anyone knows of a way to customize your lock screen beyond just the background? I've been doing some searching around, but I might be wording my searches wrong or something as I haven't found anything.

There is a lovely inch or two above the "slide to unlock" bar that is just begging for a widget of some sort.

I don't know either, but I'd like to be able to use the scroll ball (or whatever it's called) to unlock... Sometimes I like to try to keep the screen clean by using the ball instead of the touchscreen but the first thing I have to do is touch the screen to unlock it...

Touch the menu button. Still technically part of the screen but won't leave a big finger streak on your screen.
