Hi,

I rootted my desire with [HOWTO] Root Your HTC Desire in One Click! | Root My Droid directions. Now after the root everything is great exept the sdcard cant be read? Like when u connect phone to PC it asks what option it takes. There aren't anymore the discspace option or what ever. Also when in options and there "SD and phone storage" says just total space Unavailable. Should I now unroot or what should I do?

Welcome to the forum.
Try rebooting your phone first, if that is not successful turn the phone off & take out the sd card & check it in a card reader.

Done all that now. It says in startup checkin sdcard and after that sdcard safe to remove. My first android phone, first root and this is it. Little stressed.

How about in a card reader on a pc, if it is readable through that then copy the contents to your pc & format the sd card.
Then copy the contents back to the card & try in the phone.

Well this transfer is going to take some time. The biggest relief is now all backups are safe. If you can help me get my Desire ok, I will be so ****ing delighted.

Well i can only try, i had my old phone an lg renoir play up for a little while.
Cured it just by formatting the memory card.
The desire on the other hand, can usually be sorted out by treating it as a pc.
Most tricks for pc problems work on sorting out the phone
