If you are returning the phone

I dont think there is a better phone from t-mobile. I have been waiting and waiting for six months for a GREAT phone from t-mobile and this is the first. Samsung has put out the best multimedia phone on the market (aside from the bugs some users are experiencing).

As for upcoming phones there is the Mytouch 3G HD and a new HTC branded sidekick running the android OS but would t-mobile allow you to return your phone and wait a few months to upgrade to another?

considering that this phone is second to none in the processing power and screen departments, it would be hard for me to go back to anything else. Thankfully We got three vibrants that haven't experienced any of the problems some are having. I hope those problems get fixed ASAP. The next best thing would be the Droid X, but that's in Verizon. You can also wait to see whether any of the upcoming phones from tmo will top the vibrant.

Even though mine and my wife's Vibrants both have DOA GPS's, we'll be keeping ours. As was said above this is the very best available from TMO right now and after checking prices/plans and especially data packages from other carriers there's no way in Hell I'd switch to any of them!

Google Maps works perfect for me using the cell towers to navigate with so I'll use it like that until Samsung hopefully fixes the gps issue. I also have a feeling this phone will have some great custom roms coming out too.

Thanks. I already returned one vibrant for a gps that wouldn't work at all. This one worked when I used it driving but I have a suspicion it is only working sporadically like many other users experience because it isn't working at all today... But I am stationary and not driving today. I really wanted the gps to be perfect so that has been keeping me from loving the phone. There doesn't seem to be anything on the market that I'd like so I was wondering what everyone would be moving to.

This phone is a homerun IMO, GPS issue notwithstanding. My only GPS issue has been an occasional minor annoyance. And that mostly while indoors. Since I don't need GPS location service while indoors this isn't too big a problem. Also, if the problem happened while I needed GPS I always have my Garmin dedicated GPS unit with me so this is not a deal breaker for me.

This device is superlative in so many ways I couldn't settle for anything less at this point. And nothing else I've seen at Tmo comes close IMO.

I HONESTLY loved this phone and HAD been with tmo for 10 years but just a couple days ago i switched to att for the iphone, i know i know ***SIGH***. but i got a REALLY good monthly discount and the thing with me is, i'm a phone hopper so every month whenever a really good phone comes out (Evo droid incredible droid x iphone vibrant etc) i always want it. but with the iphone, we know its just 1 iphone a year (Well thats how its been for the last 4 years so im presuming here lol). i know att is crap, but i live in los angeles and the coverage isnt the absolute worst here. plus i dont talk very much on the phone anyway and im mostly on wifi for internet.

how did you get a monthly discount on att, I was thinking about switching to them, i asked about every possible monthly discount they said they have none. what kind of discount do you fall under, and what percent?

What are you getting to replace it?
I am on the fence and I have no idea what would be a better option.

hey, i know gps is an issue for you, it is for me also. Try to stick it out though, because I really think this is the best android phone out right now. Also, you may not have been a customer with t-mobile long enough to know this, but their customer service is superior to any other carrier. They truely are the best US carrier in terms of working with their customers to resolve issues.

Now, this is what I suggest you do, since you are not sure at this point if the GPS will be fixed or not, call customer service, say "cancellation" and explain your dilema to the retentions rep. Ask them to please work with you to extend your remorse period, especially since samsung has not released any deffinitive answer on the GPS issue.

Also if you return the phone and cancel your contract, sometimes, some carriers make you wait 90 days before you can sign back up.So ask them what their policy is, and if your remorse starts over.

Lets hope monday brings some good news from samsung.
Also keep in mind that your phone comes with a 1 yr warranty. If the gps is not resolved within the next few weeks, you still have 1 yr for them to fix it. I don't think samsung wants a class action suit, so they will resolve this problem one way or the other.

Call t-mobile though, be honest and ask them to please work with you. If any carrier is willing to be flexible, it is t-mobile.

There is no phone better than the Vibrant in total(CPU, GPU, screen, camera, durability). Almost every phone is significantly worse except for resolution. The GPS bug that will probably be fixed and this phone will be unquestionably top, at least for a month or two.

Their are also some other major flaws you are over looking for the phone.

1) Is the poor customer service.....any customer service that out right lies to the customer in the hopes they are not bright enough to know the truth sucks.

2) They advertise the phone as having true multiple e-mail support by default. Yet only one signature can be used and no matter what e-mail account is used to send e-mail the one signature is always sent.

3) Unlike a true android phone this one does not actually work properly with google. Groups etc are not being synced properly.

And that is only a SMALL list of the flaws, lies and false advertisements of this phone.
Their are a lot better phone or phones of comparable hardware specs out their. The Droid X has been working much better than the vibrant.
