Just an open question really. I see quite a lot of this here. The question is:
Why do I see lots of members that have an iPhone (and no android phone) on this forum?
If you are one of them care to answer? Is it you are thinking about moving to android or something?
Btw anyone turning this into a flamefest will have their posts removed, and action taken, considering I've just made it clear it won't be tolerated.
I'm here because I'm a fan of Android and it's openness and when my iPhone contract runs out next summer, I WILL be ditching Apple and moving on to something else. And unless MeeGo turns out to be kick-ass, or something else comes along, I'll be moving to Android. I have my iPhone jailbroken and modded to hell and back, and the jailbreak itself takes quite a while to recover from and get it set up to how you want it, while my friend with a DInc can do the same things, and more, so much easier. That, and I just really don't like how Apple does business. When I was looking for my first smartphone last summer, I looked at everything out there at the time, and the iPhone 3Gs met everything I wanted. Android was still in version 1.5 or 1.6, and just wasn't there yet, and while the Palm Pre looked like nice hardware, the apps and stuff for it was sorely lacking. But since then, Android has grown by leaps and bounds, while Apple has made some small improvements that other phones already had (folders, "multitasking", front facing camera, camera flash) and then tried to make everyone think it was another "revolutionary gamechanger." It may have been before (even then, it was more marketing than reality), but with Android handsets doing what they are doing, it isn't anything special anymore, and it even has glaring flaws from them trying to rush too much newness into it. Frankly, I may not even make it to next summer, especially if I can get a sweet deal by switching to Verizon or Sprint. I know I can sell my 3Gs for a decent price (jailbroken on 3.1.3, SHSH blobs on Cydia all the way from to 3.0 to 4.0, unlocked, old baseband and bootrom, good stuff), so if I get a new phone now, I can sell this thing for enough to cover the Android handset and my ETF. Score! But no rush, so I'm waiting to see what's coming out next. But I gotta admit, the Samsung Captivate is looking mighty tasty! Dang, am I still typing? Sorry for the Wall of Words, but you asked!
