Help How do you like your xperia x10?

So, I may be getting one and I want some feedback on what you guys think of your phone. I have actually never played with one yet, just love the way it looks. Is it really laggy?

thanks!

its a great phone, and its build quality is exceptional.

HOWEVER, there are quite a few bugs in my opinion. Such as intermitent signal problems, low ring tone volume, and it has more than its fair share of preinstalled apps that you CANNOT remove. 1 or 2 would be ok but not 10+.

The last thing to consider is that it is still running an older version of Android.

Consider the Samsung Galaxy S, i just switched to that and so far it has proved to be excellent.

The X10 is a good phone, all that it is lacking is 2.1-2.2, but we are expected to get that update Q4 this year (correct me if im wrong). To answer your concerns about the phone lag its really not that bad. Just make sure you update the phone and you should be good to go.

Its not bad but I do hate the fact I will be stuck with this thing for 2 years, sony said before the release that it will get multi touch in an update then after 3 months of it being on sale they then said "opps sorry we lied it will never have multi touch"

Don't get a phone that is out dated before it was even released and if it ever gets Android OS ver3 then it will run below the recommended spec! If I could sell this for a desire or galaxy s I would in half a second and I will never buy SE again in my life!

Hope that helps.

What he said and the fact that the in call volume is pathetic and SE seem more interested in updating their crap multimedia software rather than fixing core problems.

I wouldnt by an X10 again and I certainly wouldnt by an SE phone again if this is the kind of rubbish that gets through their QA process...

The x10 is a great phone, lag is actually almost not there ever since the update. The thing that pissed me off is the SE lied to us about multi touch. IMO i would not get this phone again, and i would trade it for an evo or desire any day.

Never getting another SE phone, but its going to be an experience for the next 3 years XD

Yeah, honestly I regret buying this phone. And I think we all EXPECT Sony, a top of the line company, to make top-of-the-line phones. I learned from my mistakes, and won't assume again. Good thing you are researching the phone ahead of time. What else, oh the fact that I'm stuck with this phone for 2 1/2 years :[, lame. The fact that I spent 500 on this crap :/

Quiet little voice from the corner... I still love my X10. Never had a smart phone before, only experience I have is playing with hubby's iphone 3gs, which I was never very keen on. I'm not a business user, its purely personal so texting, bit of internet, looking at emails and the odd call (mainly via car bluetooth) so for all those things its been great. Call volume could be better when used in the great outdoors and hoping they will somehow tweak this. The whole multi-touch issue is minor for me. Looking forward to the HD video thing but have to say the camera and video are great (again in comparison to iphone... he bought an app that supposedly makes his 7mega pixels - yeah right!) we bought a pocket digital camera just before I got my phone and tbh we could have saved our money.

I knew it was 1.6 when I bought it, I read all the stuff I could find on the internet, I bugged the crap out of a poor man in TMobile shop playing with different phones for ages and I chose this cos it looked and felt great. I couldn't tell the difference between 1.6 and 2.1 for my basic needs.

You pays your money, you makes your choice. I have the phone for two years and I'm ok with that at the moment! (see get out clause left in just in case it all goes to hell!)

It was better than I expected. To leave a pre android phone behind and realise you can never go back. Feels good in the hand, big bright screen and I even started to use Timescape, that I first thought should be a waste of space.

Ppl shouting about 2.1, dont realize that x10 is a very fast phone, so the speed increase will not be noticable. And the better exchange support, is already there through the Moxier apps. (That other ppl want to remove, se above.) If you are early with systems upgrades, you also get to beta test all the apps and I dont like that. Better to be a few months after the wave and get adjustments weekly instead of major updates daily. :)

The things to consider when buying x10 is that the screen is big, making the phone big. Good for reading and browsing and gaming. Bad if you are a sms and phone only person.

I had a HTC Hero before this phone, got it as it has a decent camera and a massive screen. but i regret it as it will prob be the last of the high end phones to be updated as always, plus i can never hear it ringing in my pocket, the volume is quiet low,as is the incall volume. im tied to an 18th month contract, all my previous phones were payg unlocked,so im stuck with it. looking forward to the hd recording though!

Honestly I like the phone alot their really is no lag the phone is really fast on and offline, actually connects to wifi and the network in a snap. for web browsing and texting emais its great feels fine in the hand and built well IMO. video quality is top notch when streaming and what not the only things I don't like is that sony is taking forever to update the software their are a few issues with the keys on the touch screen and the camera needs some bugs fixed, no multi touch for NES roms was another problem with me but really overall its a solid device...

I love it. 2nd smart phone for me although my first was a brick. (htc dream)

it only lags maybe for a few seconds after an install is done or something. other than that is fast and smooth and love the big screen and video player. cam is nice too...

as for the audio and signal. its clear. ALWAYS. strong signal. sure the earpiece is a tad lower but its still passable.

get this phone.. atleast stick to android if you dont get an X10. go with Evo or something. but i think its a wicked phone that im happy to show off because no one else i know in my city has it from what i seen yet. really.... in 2 months since i got it i have not seen one other one. funny because its Rogers best android phone right now. hmmm
