Changing the color of pressed buttons and highlights...

Ok, now that we have a beautiful custom battery icon (thanks again Kelmar!) I would like to try to do some more customizations. My Hero is SO close to what I like now, only need one more change to make it perfect.

I'd like to figure out how to change all of the green highlighting to blue on the Hero. (Like on the ZenRom) Things like: when you press a button (say the call button, as an example) or icon or widget, and things like the progress bar in the browser... also things like the unread mail indicator, and the rating stars in the market...etc. Kelmar and I have been reading on XDA, and have tried many things, and we are getting nowhere. Everything seems to lead to a very long tedious process. It would seem to us that some of this might be able to be easily changed in one file, to make the change throughout the rom, but we could be wrong.

We wonder if anyone here could help out with how to do this.

If Fresh 2.3.3 wasn't so far better than the Zen rom, I would be still using Zen and enjoying the blue rather than the green. (BTW, Green is my most disliked color! LOL)

I guess the question stands, is it changing each .png and .9.png one at a time in each of the apks or is it an .XML edit or ....???

This looks rather time consuming though, so it won't be the next few days (long days and work and getting the wife a new/swapped Evo).

Hello , I am the op for ZenHeroFX
most of the edits you would be looking for are going to be in framework-res.apk, and com.htc.resources.apk this will take care of about 70% of the phone. the rest are in the app/ apks.
Just be carefull with the *9.png's these need to be run thru draw9patch then recompiled to work correctly. this is a very long process.

Can I get it in red instead of blue? My phone is set up with a red/black scheme and I really likes it.

So this isn't a permanent fix, but if you are using launcher pro, you can choose what color your button presses are .

ccapasso, thanks for the suggestion! So far, I have hesitated to use LP, as I like Sense. But I may try out LP. We'll see how the colorization mod goes.

You guys should just use ZenheroFX instead lol. For me Zenherofx is faster and better in every way I've looked at it, it even has jit working now!

LOTS of progress today... about 10 hours worth.

Still a bit of fine tuning to do but overall, it is mostly complete.


Sixxx - I doubt I'll be doing a red one strictly because my wife is ready to shoot me for spending so much time on my phone/computer. If you want the blue, let me know and I'll be sure to get it to you when it's done.

I spent about 10 hours on it today alone and would call it about 80% done. Previously, probably about another 15 hours of trial and error and trying to figure out WTF I was doing.
