Ok well to start with my bttry life has started sucking, like lasting maybe 4 hrs with little to no use. When I try to open attachments in my email it erases anything in my inbox and kicks me back to home screen. Some times when I make a call the screen will go black and not come back on so I can't end the call without taking the bttry out. Today I couldn't enter my voicemail code for this reason.(but not all the time) I know I am not alone with the echo thing. This is my 3rd handset since the 6th. My data icon will totally disappear resulting in no data connection at all. Today I got the error code com.android.phone has stopped working suddenly with the option being to force close. Was that the phone I don't even know what that would refer to. I love the phone, but it is not living up to my expectations at all. I only have like 2 apps from the store, and 2 emails set up. We have an outage right now in my area so we can't even send pics mail( for over a week now) Verizon what the H E double bubble is goin on? O and there is a funny crackeling noise when the camera comes on and sometimes when you switch betwwen apps. Please tell me I am not alone and the OTA will fix all of these problems I'm not sure my store will do another swap for me. My phone is a 39/09 by the way. Any feedback will be appreciated.

wow your third handset? you either have incredibly bad luck or you are doing something wrong... perhaps a bad app? i know you said you only have a few apps. what are they? i suppose it only takes one bad one to gum up the works. as far as battery usage, are you turning off gps and such when not in use? did you try dimming the screen?

yes the screen is dim, and everything is off I even hit the top botton as soon as I am done to kill the screen. I have Klondike solotaire and ATK . I have deleted everything else. The first handset would not stay connected to the network, they replaced it and the replacement would not ever connect to the network at all. After hours with tech support I was advised to take it back in. Now I am on number three, I havn't done anything to hurt it at all. I have always had a knack for getting the electrical toys with a screw lose lol

No I live in the middle of no where very rural Oklahoma. I do live just outside a big Air Force Training Base. Maybe the planes are interferring sending out scambling signals or something like that. Who knows both my grandmothers were unable to wear watches aginst their skin cuz it would drain the bttrys maybe I am just a bttry sucking freak lol.

That's an interesting thought, I do know if your phone constantly can't get signal it tends to drain the battery a lot faster. I had this experience with my old phone when we went on a road trip. There were a lot of place without signal and I think the phone constantly tries to connect to something making the battery run out faster.

I second this.

If you have poor reception, the device will use more power to get a signal. I'm wondering if all the radio interference from the AF base is causing issue with your Droid.

I got 4 hours one night but I had some stupid app that was constantly running and causing the problem.

Now I get the following.
Last night, charged it to 100% around 9pm. Stopped charging it and went to bed. At 6am, phone was at 80%. 80% could be anywhere from 80-89%, unfortunately the device doesn't increment by 1%. I used the music player hooked up to my car's aux jack for about 40 minutes and got to work. Used the device all day to email, text, and browse the web. Constantly checking fantasy football news.
Also, I get poor reception at home.
Used the phone again for music on the way home, another 1 hour drive. Now at 9pm, I'm at 15% and the device is telling me it's hungry.
Not bad, in my opinion.

I've done about 2 full discharge and charges. Also the display brightness is at about 30%. I constantly kill all apps using Advanced Task killer after I'm done texting, emailing, and browsing. Screen timeout is set to 30 seconds. GPS is turned off unless I want to use it.

Hope this helps, good luck
