Hello AndroidForums!

I just released my first game on the Android Market having spent nearly five months on development. The game is ad supported and can be downloaded for free.

Features include:
- Up to 20 simultaneous games.
- Two board styles, "normal" and random (bonus squares scattered randomly on the board)
- English and Norwegian dictionaries
- Built in chat.
- Push notifications.
- Customizable avatar / profile picture

I'd love to hear what you think about it.

Note: the permissions are for network access, push notifications, ability to invite friends from your contact list, and ads.

Game looks and plays excellent. MUCH better looking than wordwise, and the biggest thing....It ACTUALLY finds a game for me to play. I installed wordwise 4 times and it never worked. Just laid my first word which was 81 points :D

Pinch to zoom would be a nice feature. But thats me stretching for constructive criticism lol.
Custom notification sounds would also be nice.

like I posted on the reviews for this game. I like the board better but the ads are horrible. It wouldn't be AS bad if their was actually a paid version but there isn't as of yet. I really dislike how I cant see where I'm placing my tile until I actually let it go and the board is zoomed in by default which again, is annoying. Change the default to zoomed out and give us an idea of where we're placing our tiles and then I'd consider it better than wordwise. As for people who dont like word wise cause they cant start a game, send me an email request by selecting invite friend debra.valdez@gmail.com That works for either game (wordwise and wordfeud).

The only problem I'm having is that it keeps saying I'm not connected to the network or something. Other than that this is great so far.

That sounds like a shoddy connection. However, constant warnings about connection problems can certainly be annoying, so I'll try to tone that down a bit in a future version.

Thanks for the suggestions. Pinch to zoom is something that I'd like to add for sure.

I see your point about the ads. As much as I'd like to release a paid version without ads, the fact is that Google simply won't allow developers from Norway (where I live) to sell applications on the Market. Hopefully this will change soon, but Google has been very quiet about their plans, so I really don't know when a paid version will be available.

I'll see if I can find a way of making it easier to place tiles in zoomed out mode. Maybe by offsetting the tile so that it appears slightly above the point of touch.

As for the default zoom level I think people have different preferences. Maybe this could be something you could configure in the Settings screen, or perhaps Wordfeud could remember the zoom level you had last time when you open a game? Something to think about for sure.

By the way, I've set up a feedback page here:
Customer Feedback for Wordfeud

It's pretty cool in that it allows you to post ideas for improvements that you'd like to see, and then other people can place votes on the ideas they like.

I'm sorry that paid apps are not an option at this point, if they were I'd definitely be willing to put down a few dollars especially knowing that this is something you are actively working on and bettering. I honestly think the tile thing and the ads were the only two things I really cared about. As far as the zoom default that would be a good option to. I tend to zoom in to place tiles and out to continue viewing the board until it is my turn again. As a user I appreciate YOUR feedback on our take of your application. It is very asthetically pleasing and does not seem to have any glitches. I realize this is the beginning of it so I look forward to seeing how it turns out later on down the road.

After playing this for a few hours, while most things are good, I have a few minor critiques. First, maybe use a better dictionary? I prefer to use words that are generally considered words, although I don't mind the dictionary that you chose to much. Second, maybe find a way to make the notification system better. The notifications I get are pretty sporadic. And as a few others have said, some little improvements like pinch to zoom, paid version through slideme or paypal, manual refresh, etc.

Great game! Very good first release. If you could add sounds to the game it'd give it some nice polish.

Also, is there a way to make a friends list? As in random people you've played that you want to add to your list and not just contacts.

I'm really liking the color scheme as well.

Another nice touch you could add if possible is a daily/weekly leaderboard for highest scores/best records.

It's good game, but two things I would like to comment.
1. I cannot resign a game because it says I have connection problem and need a update...?!?
2. I really want to delete/exit finished games or unwanted games!!! Too many games on the fornt list that I will not play anymore.
Thanks for the effort~
