Hey guys. I wanted to ask you if there are some must do's after upgrading to 2.1. Since upgrading..the phone is very laggy and sometimes the network will just drop. I won't be able to surf or use any programs that require getting on the internet.

Is there something I can do now that I'm on 2.1 to restore it's speed? Should I do a reset to the phone and then upgrade to 2.1? What have you guys done to speed up the phone?

Thanks! :)

There are many ways but in the long run you will most likely still get some of those issues either way, you can re flash it gain after doing a factory reset, but what I would do is save yourself the time and effort, and call Sprint CS and complain about your issues, and tell them you have done many factory reset and you are still having the same issue, and constant reboots, and let them send you another phone with 2.1 already installed, which is what I did 3 times now, LOL, but I still get some of the issues as for lag and reboots but not as bad, but this way if it still happens to you again after they replace your phone then you have a higher ground to get them to replace it with a different phone down the road because it has happened before!!

I am pretty frustrated with the Hero since I went with 2.1. Love the 2.1 stuff but the lagginess of the phone is driving me crazy.

We are a four Hero family and all of us are frustrated.

So where do I call to get the best results and what should I ask for? I don

Call *2 or
888-211-4727 (Sprint phones)
800-639-6111 (Nextel phones)

Called *2

Talking with CS and they said that upgrade for 2.2 was coming for the Hero I told her that was only for the Evo and she checked and said i was correct. Then she cxhecked around and said other techs had this problem and suiggested a hard reset which I said I did that already without helping.

I am going to go ahead and do the hard reset again and work through the process. The lady on the phone was nice and gave me her email address.

Ok don't waist your time in doing so, just tell her you did and you are still having the same issue, and you want another phone, that your done with resetting and loosing all your data again and again, if she does not want to do so, tell her you want to talk to account services not customer service, they will take care of you or loose your account

well I already did it. Of course it is faster at first. I will play the game for awhile.

I am not sure that another hero will do it, maybe an evo.
