Any updates for T-mobile MyTouch Slide 3G?

Any word or anyway to find out if my device (in the title) is going to get an upgrade to this Froyo stuff? I'm new to this Android world and have no idea what's going on..

Umm, where are you getting your info? It's been known for a month or more that the entire 3G mytouch line will be getting froyo within a couple to few months...

just a guess but I think he means they haven't said anything official other than "by the end of 2010"... hell after the debacle with the Behold 2 where the TMO CSR's were still telling people that the 2.1 upgrade was coming to the BH2 in a couple months almost a month after Samsux announced that it would only get 1.6 and then support was being dropped I won't believe any TMO eta's until the update shows up on my nephews phone (he's not rooted because his mom said she'd confiscate his phone if he did)

Unless I read that way wrong, it certainly seems to refer to the entire line of mytouch 3G phones getting 2.2. No argument on the date part of it though... Accurate dates on updates seem to be the rarest thing in the Android universe.

You almost NEVER know when an update is coming until it's right on top of you. Don't hold your breath. However, for what it's worth, there IS a fix/update coming out starting tomorrow (myTouch 3G Slide MR Update. - T-Mobile Community) which i for one think is VERY important and for which I have been waiting very patiently for. This will be more than enough to keep me happy until Froyo. Look for the update on your phone in the next 2 weeks (it's staggered)

Was there a rumor to that affect? Doesn't seem like the hardware is ready for that. I don't know. I don't do video recording very often. I'd rather see 5MP minimum on all Phones now and 8 or higher on the higher end phones. I would use that way more. These phones are getting crazy. At this rate I won't need a computer pretty soon. Now all I need is an app to print something to an IP address but then again, firewalls would probably kill that idea.

T-mobile has turned into a horrible choice for android users.

While many Sprint and Verizon customers were getting 2.1 T-mobile was left in the cold. The only way to this day to get 2.1 on Magenta is to buy a phone that came with it like the Mytouch Slide, Vibrant, or the newly released MotoCharm.

Now guess what? Sprint and Verizon are updating their phones to 2.2 and all T-mobile has to say is "coming soon" to any updates to 2.2.

Now if you want 2.2 you have to spend $600 on a G2 (which by the was comes out of the box clocked at 800MHz) when it is released.

I came to T-mobile because of the G1 and lower plan rates but if they don't show me they plan on staying up with the Jones's in the Android game I will put my Slide up for bids on Ebay and get a Droid2.
