Ever since the 2.1 update i have problems receiving text messages. I get about every other one. I went to the verizon store and all they said was to just take out battery, ive done that a couple times and its gotten worse. Does anyone know a way to fix it. Is it a setting or is my phone just messed up?

My mom has the same phone and it doesnt happen to hers so it must be mine. I should replace it but the people at the verizon store are not helpful at all. But thank you.

Contact Verizon Tech Support and tell them about your issue and what you've done to research the problem. I've been having the same problem and have a replacement phone on the way.

I'm having the same issue. I noticed it started last week, but I upgraded the week before. I may have been missing some texts soon after the upgrade and not really noticed but since Friday I've missed dozens. People keep emailing me to tell me they've been trying to text me.

On hold to talk to Verizon tech support now but my cell is my only phone so I have to call from it. I probably won't have much luck troubleshooting because of it.

The tech support guy was nice but not very helpful. First he said it could be because I use google voice for voicemail. I reaaally doubt that's the case. Naturally both of the test messages he sent I was able to receive, but texts that others have sent me before, during and after the call have still not been received (even with changing my voicemail settings). Part of the troubleshooting was to send a text to myself, which I did and it worked. Beyond that he suggested I do a battery pull and calling back from another line when I can.

I checked my usage on Verizon's website and it shows messages I should have received between last night and this morning, but I definitely didn't get them.

I have a feeling I'm going to end up getting a replacement.

Try doing a *228 activation and push option 1 to reactivate the phone. Sometimes reactivation can fix issues like that. I've had that happen with previous phones with texts not going through, phone calls being unauthorized, etc

Aha, I knew I'd forgotten something. The tech rep did mention this step also. I did it earlier but looks like it didn't do any good.

I'm having this same issue with my Samsung Captivate on AT&T. I, too, am using Google Voice for my voicemail. I think I'll try using AT&T voicemail for a while to see if that fixes the issue. Like you, though, I doubt that it will, but you never know.

saywhatsamx3 or soulcurrent, have you tried this already?

I switched back to the Verizon voicemail but still no texts. I can see in my usage reports on Verizon's site that they're reported as being received (and they're counting against my sms package) but I'm definitely not getting them.
