BEST CASE for Nexus One

Hey all

I've been playing around with my Nexus One in my new OtterBox case.

It's the Commuter version. AND IT'S AWESOME!!!

The phone grips more, it has a more rugged feeling to it, before I had a feeling that the phone is quite fragile, now .. it's like it's unbreakable hehe Love that the rubber closes up the miniUSB port and the audio hole.. so no dust can get in.

You get a screen protector with it... when I opened it up I really hope that it's not the screen protector that distorts the colors and stuff like the one from Zagg... AND IT'S NOT!! it looks awesome. The only bad thing about it is that it's not scratch resistant and it scratches quite easy. Ohh well can't be perfect like the case is

I have to say one thing.. when you apply the screen protector.. start applying it at the bottom where we have the capacitive buttons.. looks like it's a few milimeters to short the top part is covered by the rubber so you won't see the minimal gap

I must say this is the best one I bought so far and probably the last one, because it's just too good!!

It took a week to ship it from USA to europe.. so I was surprised on that too..

i noticed it's hard to picture my phone with my phone.. fail .. gonna try picture it with my Kodak zx3 that I got with me but focus sucks on pictures... probably gonna do a movie brb

I have bought and returned a dozen or so cases I bought for my N1, except this one. I LOVE this case!!! I would not trade it for anything...

I use my phone as a music player for working out in the gym. My phone has fallen off the treadmill/elliptical machine a few times (accidents of course) and no damage whatsoever. The WORST that happened was I had to re-seat the SIM card.

I give this case a 20 out of 10...

Personally, I think the Defender is a bit overkill, but it was not available when I bought mine.

Hmmm, this thread came along just in time. I've had my phone for months now but dropped it for the first time last week, then again this week!
Gave me quite a scare so I was really considering a case.

I just dropped it today.. it fell and I was shocked as hell.. there is a nice scratch on my protected screen now thank god it's only that

I didn't use the included screen protector. I have not found one yet that I like.

I have a BSE on mine, so I won't be using the screen protector anyway.

Since the otterbox screen protector is kinda not scratch proof I ordered myself a Clarivue Screen Protector Ultra clear. Can't wait till I get it.

Yeah, but it smudged worse than without the protector so I took it off.

Got mine today and I LOVE it! The fit and finish is great, and it adds very little bulk to the phone, which was something I was worried about. It's hard to judge from the pictures how bulky the case is. I'm very happy with it. It feels better in my (large) hands now than before. It has a more solid and substantial feel to it.

Dumb question maybe but I ask because the pictures looks like it might be possible... but can you charge it in the desktop dock with the case on? It looks like there are holes in the case but I wonder if the dock pins are long enough...

No you can't use it with any stock dock. It's just too bulky you can't even see the pins when you got it on. 2nd picture from my first post.

I see... I thought image 7 showed the gold contact pads but I guess that's just part of the USB flap. Still.... looks nice.

Nah that's just holes cut out so the usb flap can move more freely.

That's one reason I rooted and have installed a custom ROM. Trackball Wake (you can also set it up for Trackball Wake and Unlock as well).

Yep trackball wake and lock on power button.. 50-50 double the life span
