OK, this is definitely a newbie question, I know, but I can't figure out how to do it, regardless!

When you've looked at any app or any page, you can hit the "go back" arrow at the bottom left of the Droid phone... but what I also want to do many times is go FORWARD. Is there some way to do this? I just can't find a way to make that simple thing happen!

Thanks again for any and all help!

Nancy

If you're in the web browser looking at web pages, I know that you can hit the Menu button on the bottom of the phone, and in the menu that pops up there is a "Forward" button (assuming there is anything to go forward to).

I'm not sure if there is any sort of forward button in the other apps or the OS itself. It probably depends on which app you are using.

Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean by "forward" exactly, especially outside of the browser -- and forward is only available in a browser if you've just gone "back"----taking you to wherever you were before you pressed back.

Like in the gmail app, where would "forward" take you? The next email up? The next email down? The next label? The next app that begins with "G"?

No, I'm actually referring to the OS and some apps... For example, sometimes when I'm looking for an app in the "Market" and accidentally return to the home page on "Market" (where it lists all the categories of apps), I want to go back to the page where I was looking at a specific app, but I see no way to do that. Frustrating. Same thing for any other app that you can't return to an area you were just looking at if you accidentally go back. Does that make sense?

Thanks for your help!

hold down the Home button, this brings up the 6 most recently opened apps, wherever you just were would be in that list. As far as I know, no smartphone offers a "forward" button.
