Who hasn't recieved the OTA Froyo update?

Just curious. I know many on this forum are on the bleeding edge and won't wait for the long rollout, but I haven't had 15 continuous minutes to sit down and download and grab the update.zip file and do this. am in NE, I have several friends along the East Coast w Droids and none of us with 2.1 have seen something from VZW.

I know of 3 forum members that got it yesterday but thats it. Im sure more would have gotten it today but so many forced the update and no longer needed it

only 10K people recieved it yesterday...then 200K people get it per day until everyone has it.....that is what i heard at least. i just forced it yesterday as i had some spare time on my hands. it is really great, love the speed increase, doesn't have the lag problems with launcher pro as much as 2.1 did, FLASH in the browser is great at times, slows it down some other times. camera is great, youtube HQ video by default is great. i really dont ahve any complaints. i also heard the processor is running 600Mhz so thats cool.

I haven't yet, and I'm glad. My Droid is running excellently with 2.1, and with all the problems I've read here and elsewhere, I'm scared as hell that this crap "update" is going to brick the best brand-new phone I've ever had.

I was looking forward to 'better', 'faster' and all that, but at this point I'd rather just keep what I've got. As it is, it already does far more than I expected it to.

After seeing all the angst over buggy updates, I am more than happy to wait for my OTA. The early releases just made a ton of us beta testers, and I need my phone to work each and every minute of every day. Let the bugs get worked out by those phone pioneers willing to plunge into the forced updates -- I'm patiently waiting for the OTA -- even if it ends up being a 2.9 update.

I forced mine last week. I'm glad I did it because I can help beta test and figure out issues with it, but FroYo has been absolutely terrible for me.

I'm thankful there are people like you who help fix things like what's going on. I am certainly not one with the patience, knowledge or skill to do it.

I feel bad for all the involuntary beta testers that are in the same boat.

So were there different versions of the FRG01B? Is that why people who got it over the air vs. forced are getting such different user experiences?

Also, I wanted to ask if after forcing FRG01B people are seeing better results by doing a factory reset? I am hesitant to try the FR due to the reports of loss of 3G service.

If I do a factory reset what data does it wipe? Apps? Contacts? Media? what else should I back up?

I did a factory reset Sunday night and from Sunday night to Monday night saw some of the best results I've seen on the Droid. Over 12 hours, I lost barely any battery life, almost full. The phone ran cool, loaded quickly, did everything flawlessly. Then at about .... 9:30 last night, something happened, and instantly, Android OS battery usage went from 2% (normal) to 40% (and at one point spiking at 82%), and it's been like that since yesterday. It killed 70% of battery in a matter of two hours.

Meanwhile, I am running _no_ unusual apps. Nothing. I don't know what to do at this point.
