yeah, worked perfectly when i first got my droid at launch

He's talking about the app syncing. Not the blur/facebook syncing.

The app allows you to only update existing contacts instead of importing your entire FB friends list.

My contacts are still a mess. When I activated my X and setup the FB account, all the friends came over from FB. I did not and do not want this, but I've let it alone hoping it would get resolved.

With the new FB app I just installed, I at least see where I can only sync with existing contacts, but I have all these still I don't want.

When I go to delete them, it says something about only being able to delete from native FB.

Can I get rid of the friends from FB I don't want on my phone under contacts somehow? Surely I'm missing something here.

Ill post here aswell... this update is a possible battery drainer. when I updated to it this morning my "running time" jumped up from 30% to now over 70% in a couple hours time with "facebook" showing as the backround running app... meaning this app may not be letting your phone sleep and potentially draining the battery
Everyone who updates, please keep an eye on your battery life after updating.

Ya this is definitely true, the wake time is already at an hour and ive only had the phone unplugged for 3. Uninstalling, its garbage.

and it automatically threw all my facebook people into my contact list... Im kinda pissed right now about it. Im Uninstalling it now and will just be bookmorking the actual website until another update is available and its fixed.

Yep - same thing here - updated to the new version and rebooted - Running time overnight stayed at 100%. Is definitely not letting my phone sleep. Disappointing...

I might be the only one, but I much preferred the prior version of the Facebook Android app. The new one automatically created a group called "nativeFacebook" and put all my Facebook contacts in there, despite that they already exist in my Facebook account I associated with my phone when I activated it. As a result, I had two identical lists of Facebook users and those contacts were associated with both groups. I even turned off auto synching but I still could not figure out a way around this redundant group being created. Am I missing something that would allow one group of users to exist without this happening? As a result, I uninstalled the app and will just access it via the site until this issue is fixed.

There's an option for that in the settings.

yep, but once it was done, it wasnt able to be undone. tried rebooting and everything... just had to uninstall the app...
Hopefully they get this junk straight and quickly... It's a shame how crappy the facebook app is compared to our closest competitors i.e. blackberry and iPhone

I assume you're talking about the option to never sync, right? If so, I disabled that (though it was after I had initially set it to sync). Will the redundant group NOT be created if I set it to off in the first place?

Hasent seem to affect my battery ....had my phone on for almost 24 hours most of that with the new facebook
