I bought Chinese (PRC) built copy of the HTC RHOD160 battery used on the Touchpro 2, Hero, EVO, etc (maybe I was drunk or something, I probably should have just bought the genuine HTC one). But since I had it, I decided to test it out. They never actually said what the capacity was.

So I decided to try and measure the capacity (relative to the stock battery).
I fully charged the stock battery, including the bump charge. I then put the phone in airplane mode, put the screen brightness on maximum and set the screen shut off time to 30minutes. I then ran Strobe Light for 30 minutes, and recorded the battery usage (using the battery widget-after the test it was at 89%).

I then put in the new battery, let it drain completely, let it charge fully (w/ bump charge). I then ran the test again, (93%). Rounding this out, it suggests the capacity is around 1.25x the oem (1600 mah total). I'm not really happy with the methodology of this test, but atleast it looks bigger than the stock.

I realized half-way through that I should be looking at the battery voltage, but I don't really want to rerun the test (I'd have to calibrate the phone 3 times in order to do it). So I'll just keep an I on the battery...if it runs very hot, or drains quickly I'll order the real HTC and return this one (or just eat the $7).

And before I go, just a couple of observations. It's slightly bigger than the stock (you have to pinch along the entire edge to keep it from gapping). The back seems perfectly secure, and it doesn't mattery for me since I use a case. And It seems slightly heavier (ok, maybe 10 grams, at the most). Oh, and it shipped promptly, and I got it 4 business days after I bought it.

So in summary, the battery doesn't seem as horrible as I could imagine. I'd still suggest you cough up the extra $6 for the real one.

What is the WHr rating of the battery? Divide that by 3.7 (the voltage) and that will give you how many Ah there are. Multiply that by 1000 and that's how many mAh the battery has.

I doesn't give one. And frequently the stated specifications vary from actual performance (I'm assuming you didn't check me occupation before telling me this ).

I figured this would be a useful measure without running a actual drain test for a battery I don't own a charger for (I only have 1 cheapo DMM too, so that'd be difficult as well).

Grad student in Applied Math. I did a double major Physics and Math for undergrad.

Yeah...I wish I just bought the real RHOD160. I have NO clue what I was thinking, but I'm not too worried about it (I'm keeping an eye on it, making sure it doesn't get too hot/etc).

Nice. I'm an electrical engineer with a minor in mechanical-applied physics (still working for the USAF at the moment).

I have just started using the RHOD160 and it's pretty good. I go over 24 hours easy on a charge. No more babying it before bed.

Time is money... so I think I'll just pay the $15 for bidallies 1500mah battery and be done with it. I've never had any luck w/ Chinese knockoffs and always end up tossing them to get OEM.

It works ok as I did not have great expectation. But it just mentions 1300 MPH and is different from your post. I think it may be better. Just may be!!!
