"A Brief History of Rome" shares some traits with Risk, but it is NOT a world conquest game. Not sure exactly how to describe it, but it is a "rise and fall" style of game, where the object is to try and build and defend your empire against the barbarian hordes.

People constantly confuse the game type and end up disappointed as a result, but you cannot - and are not intended to - be able to permanently conquer the map. The aim is to see how powerful/great an empire you can build before it all inevitably comes crashing down - that is the design.

Tip (to anyone who decides to try it): As with all my games, reading the manual/FAQ is very highly recommended.

Hi strategy I see you have a new title out, I must check it.

I came on here to recommend Age of Conquest. I have South America, which is quite an interesting layout. It's a shame you can't get all layouts for a sane price. I'd like to see more in this genre too.

Actually my very first Android game. Not as well received as P&T, but then it is a game for a very particular kind of strategy player. And I learned a lot from making it.

I'll +1 for Age of Conquest, btw. The mechanics are not quite Risk, but the games certainly have somewhat of the same feel.

Don't really know of any other similar games. Not many turn-based strategy titles in general on Android. Considering doing another one for my next Android game - this time designed specifically for the phone.

I play Victors United online Victors United I think they're bringing out their mobile game soon. I don't know if it is PBEM or live though.

And yup, Civ on Android would be sweet! I wonder if that will ever happen...

Landrule is exactlY the old risk game but its for free with a different name

GlobeGrab is another classic risk game for android and is also free.
