I suggest people take this thread with a grain of salt: most people will be guessing when they vote (typically not even very educated guesses... I'm not dissing anyone by saying that, this stuff is just EXTREMELY COMPLEX... so complex that is has androids top hackers pretty much stumped).

If anyone who knows enough about this subject to actually make an informed selection encounters this thread, they probably won't even bother voting (or even viewing this thread). Why? I'm sure they are busy enough sharing what they know at AllDroid or in IRC chats where actual progress is being made.

I'm not saying don't vote or don't look at this thread, just saying, don't really put much weight on the poll results or the conjectures that are sure to fill this thread.

If you really want info or an idea of whether or not we will actually get custom ROMs, head to XDA, AllDroid or find one of the IRC chats where the hackers and developers are working.

I agree. (Steven walks away muttering something under his breath that sounds like "killjoy!" ;))

The sad thing is, I'm willing to bet that a lot of us will have moved on to something bigger and better by the time someone does crack the bootloader and we finally can put custom ROMs on.

I can really see this happening. Since I have an upgrade available I will be looking at an LTE phone next year...

I got my X, and all but forgot about running ROMs on my Droid. There was another Froyo leak for the Droid and I still havent installed it yet.

I just use my Droid for an alarm clock and storage right now...lol And to remember what changes came with Froyo.

(Steven walks away and mutters something, to himself, under his breath that, from what I can tell, kinda sounds like, "brats!" I'm not sure.) ;) :p

*staring*... *hesitates but turns head* Huh? Sorry, what?

Read my damn mind. I lol'd when I got done looking and read the rest of the post.

EDIT: Honestly though, it all depends on the bootloader business. I think someone's getting a bit ahead of themselves. :p
