This site seems to have some very competetive deals on it, but when I try to ring them, I wait a long time for an answer, and then give up.

Whilst the deals look good, I am slightly anxious to enter into a cashback deal with a company that don't seem to answer the phone very readily, unless I have just been unlucky. The difficulty in contacting them over sales is one thing, but if I needed to speak to them once I am in a contract, it becomes all the more important.

Does anyone have any experience of them? I don't want to be unfair to them, if I have just been ringing at a difficult time, but contact is important when in a contract.

I have tried a number of emails to the sales people, with general enquiries, but only received one reply.

Any experiences anyone?

I got my phone from them, arrived the next day with no quibbles. Bear in mind all the cashback deals are designed to be fiddly and hard to complete, so make sure you read the instructions and follow them to the letter, or you won't be getting your money back.

I have never tried to contact them (need to as my phone insurance doesn't seem to be going out and I haven't had anything to cancel) but I got my Desire from them and it arrived the next day no problem.

I would agree with this. They have been efficient in acknowledging and paying cashback valid claims (which actually come from Carphonewarehouse), but you do need to be organised to make sure that you get your claims in on time, which you may be doing at three-monthly intervals through the life of your contract. If you think you won't manage this, then look at the value before the cashback!

What will be included with the phone when it comes, and what will I need to buy in addition to enable me to do these things?

It comes with a plug adaptor and one cable. So for all three of those, you'll probably want to use the plug and cable at home, then buy a car charger, and a USB cradle for work I'd imagine.

Sorry I think I have got confused, mine wasnt with the redemption over a period of time, it was only up front, well once the cooling off period had ceased anyway. The quidco thing should still apply though!!

Dont know if they are all the same, but mine came with a USB cable that you can plug into your computer to charge, this also plugs into an adapter to plug into the wall.

Mobiles.co.uk are very good I got my desire and the MRS girly phone from them as i got a good lump sum payment from them for her crappy nokia (which was in the bank after about 30 days).

I recommend going for a lump sum payment back if you are a bit slack like me as you can easily miss requesting the payments as they dont send you it automatically, they rely on you not claiming it back but you could use your desire to set reminders a couple of weeks before its due

P.S. get the official HTC car charger as it charges at AC from both the car and computer then you can leave the one that comes in the box at home.

I bought both mine and my wife's Desires from mobiles.co.uk and I can definitely recommend them. My wife's phone developed a fault and they replaced it with no questions asked and very promptly. As it's CPW owned, if anything goes wrong after 14 days you can take it in to any branch and they'll sort it there. I did the cashback over time deal, I have to send my first bills off in October so I can't say how easy that will all be but I reckon it will be fine.

P.S. get the official HTC car charger as it charges at AC from both the car and computer then you can leave the one that comes in the box at home.

It can't charge AC from the computer. A USB puts out 5v DC at 500mA. No AC involved, and doesn't charge at the same rate as the wall charger or car charger.

I know this is well off topic but
The worrying thing is Ypud is right. The curly cable that comes with the CC C200 has no data wires ( terminals are probably shorted as well). This makes the phone think it is plugged into an AC source when plugged into any USB port. This is a little irresponsible of HTC. I am not sure what if any protection a PC has to prevent blowing the USB ports through excessive current draw but I would use this cable with caution.

Mobiles.co are cheap and the cash back is efficient and reliable. You can do it all electronically. They to get quite a kicking on some forums though. I think if something goes wrong the customer service is a bit understaffed so if you have to deal with them all bets are off.
I don't know if they still do it but they used to include "free" insurance and TMTI for one month which you had to cancel (each separately of course) to avoid being hosed when the trial period ends. It was very annoying and of course to CS numbers required to cancel it were 0845 or 0870 so not included in the minutes of the phone you have just bought!

I avoided the cashback deals for many of the reasons mentioned already but still got a much better deal with mobiles.co.uk on a simple 18-month contract than I was offered on my T-Mobile renewal. I had to change mobile numbers but I can live with that.

It may make the phone think it's plugged into an AC source but I really don't think a USB port can provide more than 500ma. You can get cables that plug into two ports at once to draw 1000ma, but as far as I know a USB port isn't physically capable of supplying more than 500ma.

mobiles.co.uk was an independent coimpany based in Watford and we had a high street branch here in Hemel Hempstead. They were acquired by The Carphone Warehouse a few years back. The best thing about mobiles.co.uk (and CPW) is that all their phones are unbranded and unlocked. They aren't the very cheapest but they have very good deals. Not really needed their customer support so can't comment, but I did call them once and got through, so maybe you are a bit unlucky?

I got my Desire from them a couple of months back now, not hit any of the cashback triggers yet but I've got a pretty good deal regardless, the cashback will be a welcome bonus though.
