I have the Google Developers Conference Edition of the T-Mobile MyTouch and it's running so slowly. Home screen and apps take forever to load. Didn't used to be this way... Seems like it has deteriorated over time. My Task Killing (Advanced Task Killer) App says I have only 16-18 Mb of memory available.

I have cleared dozens of Megabytes of caches, deleted a ton of apps, cleaned up my MicroSd card, deleted all my sms messages, and even switched to a tiny easy to load home background image all to no avail!

If anyone has any suggestions other than factory reset (last resort) I am desperate. Any help much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Well not to be a drag but you've already been deleting apps so you might as well have done the factory reset. If your phone is lagging as bad as you're claiming then you would've saved some time by doing that. Other than that I'm sorry you're having these problems.

Turning it off and on by holding the power button and selecting power off has been working as a short term fix (6-8 hours before it becomes unusable again).

Best thing to do at this point is to do a factory reset and pretty much start the phone from scratch.

Menu>Settings>SD Card & Phone Storage>Factory Data Reset

That will take the phone back to the settings it originally came with. You will have to re-download everything, but at this point I think it is your best option.

I know... Just putting it off as long as possible ;)

What's wrong with advanced task killer?

From what I've read, the general consensus is that task killers usually do more harm than good for your phone's responsiveness and battery life. Sure there might sometimes be a terribly written app that needs killing, but for the most part Android does a good job with task management.

If you're concerned about a bad app using up all your CPU, this might be a better option (I haven't tried it yet, though):

Argh! Phone is getting like it used to be before the reset pretty quickly. Fml.

Edit- Will post a list of my apps.

Heck at this point, I would just say root and rom. Since I did mine, my phone has run so much better. Either that or a new phone, be it return for a new one, or a straight out new one.

Only other thing I can think of is try askin some of the guys on xDA for any advice as well.
