Is that case all one piece or does the part that holds the phone clip on?

All one piece. The phone slides in on one end. That's why it works: one end is completely open. The Captivate will stick out a little, but the case is nice and snug. I've taken it on several runs with no issues, except that the volume is a little difficult to adjust.

The slit is at the top, I hope :p

heh. Depends on how you wear it. Personally, I wear it with the slit facing down. That way I can plug in the head set and the controls are oriented correctly. Did 6.5 miles with no issues at all. It's pretty tight.

Of course, you might wait for a while till something actually made for the Captivate comes out. It's not a perfect fit. I don't think I would have bought it for my Sally.

Okay, thanks for the heads up.

Samsung Captivate Arm Band Case (armband) Samsung Captivate Accessories (5 Star Rating): Google Checkout available.

This one might also be better. The Captivate doesn't like sweat much. Looks like this one gets it further off your arm. Might help.
Hi, the armband from pocket solutions is not for the Captivate. I ordered one and immediately realized it would not work well. The case is too small (short) and the securing strap must be stretched significantly in order to hold the phone in. Concerns me that the Velcro will not hold during a strong run as there is not much contact area. Also, wonder how long the stitching on the strap will hold being tugged on so much trying to fit the phone. Worst of all, the strap COVERS THE HEADPHONE JACK! If you look at the picture and your phone, you will see what I am talking about. In order to try and make it work, you have to really stretch the strap. All in all, I was afraid to use it. Looks to me like Pocket Solutions was trying to come to market with something not at all designed for the Captivate, which is contrast to what their product page says. If anyone has a recommendation, I am anxious for a solution. Otherwise, I would stay away from this case.

Am I going to have to cut a hole to access the headphone jack?
I use a Bluetooth stereo headset, so I initially didn't check but I just checked with my wired monitors and the hole in the case doesn't line up with the jack on the Captivate. If you have an L-shaped jack on your headphones, the material is stretchy enough that you can get away with fitting it under the case.

Another option is to put turn the case upside down, there's two holes on the bottom, and the lip will hold the phone in snuggly.

Other than that, if you have a straight jack on your headphones you will have to cut a hole. I don't think it's a big deal if you do it correctly.

I just bought a Captivate and since I not have much feeling in my hands and already dropped some phones I like to use a strap around my neck and simply hold the phone when I make calls. I nowhere in the PDF manual found if there is a place where you can hook up a neck strap. Anybody who can give me information on this ??????
