Help Text Messanging Signature

Hi everyone, Im new here and I have searched for a solution on this issue I'm having. About a week ago I some how added a signature to appear at the end of every single text message, and now I cant get rid of it. I looked on these forums, and on Google, but nothing. I know the answer will be simple, but I'm about to give up on this.

Er, not sure on the stock messaging app but try handcent sms app from the market that has an enable signature tick box on it so you can make your selection as the mood takes you.

Its found on the 'send message settings' screen then enable signature.

Can't see how you did it on the stock SE messaging app.

I dont remember either, I have ebuddy. But thats set up for MSN and Facebook. Does Handscent just do SMS and MMS?

Yes mate, sorry don't know much about ebuddy, apart from my son uses it on his phone for MSN type chat with his mates. How about uninstalling and resinstalling if thats what you have inadvertantly set this signature up on. If not wait for the rest of the good people on here to add there two penneth worth.

Just to be clear, do you use the normal 'Messaging' app that came on the phone, have you downloaded another app to deal with your text sms messaging or does ebuddy have a messaging capability? The more specific you are the easier it will be for others to help you out.

All i used was the stock messaging system, and for ebuddy I only use that for FB and MSN.

But get this, I downloaded Handcent and used it and it still has a signature, even when the signature box is cleared. Now Im extremely confused.

I just wanted to update everyone on this. I just got fed up last night, and reset my phone back to factory standards (Thinking that it would reset my whole phone). Unfortunately it didnt, and I still have this signature on all my text messages.

Is there anyone with any ideas that I can try to fix this?

Check that you didnt install a third sms app, with a signature, or a widget with that functionality. Just go through every program in your drawer and check. That is the only thing I can think of that can do that. A clue can be to check in a OS monitor app what processes are running. One of them must be the culprit. Good luck.

So irritating I know but the standard app for sms has a signature option, open the messaging app and then hit then menu button on you phone, I'm not for sure what it is called exactly but its typically right next to the home button and it opens options in all apps that have them. Its has a big square and a little overlapping square on it (on my phone at least). Its the one that you would use to open multiple windows in the browser, ect.

I got a whole new phone and I still can't get rid of this annoying signature at the end of every handcent message I send! unreal! somewhere, somehow I entered a signature a few years ago and it still haunts me today lol

I turned off signature in handcent and stock messenger just in case.

anyone know we're this signature is from? ! please
