Fresh is a custom rom, the rom that you're using is the stock one that is rooted. You should take a look at the different roms such as Fresh, Damage Control, Baked Snacks, and Cyanogen to get a feel for which one you like best. Cyanogen is the one that will be the most different though since it doesn't have Sense.

The rom looks pretty good...may give it a try.

So if I want to flash this rom, I should follow the following instructions for clearing the data?

Go into bootloader, wait a couple secs then go to "recovery", it will boot into recovery, go to "backup/restore" then nand backup, once that is done, wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache. Then once that is done, flash the rom via sd card. Then once thats done, your going to want to flash the radios. Do this like you did the rom, but let it finish, don't mess with it until it takes you back to recovery. It will say press power button or something to finish, press it then flash the wimax radio. Same as flashing the radio. Then reboot system."

Also, would I need to flash his radios or can I can use netarchy's?

Ok so I just DL'd Fresh 3.1

How the heck do you install this? It saved as a folder, not as a zip like netarchy's rom does.

Help a noob out please.

sounds like you've already unzipped it....from what i understand.u must download the entire rom 3.1...i know for existing users...there was an update.zip and there was a fulll zip..make sure you have what you need and flash in recovery...the best rom(s) i 've ever used

Found outs whats happening. When it finishes downloading, the file decompresses into a folder. If I simply right click it and choose compress into a zip, I should be good to go?

i just compressed it and it now saves as a 201.1 MB zip

So what are stock numbers and what is considered good? I'd like to test mine. What is the app that tests for FPS?

over the weekend I downloaded the leaked 2.2 rooted odexed from over at xda. I wanted to play with the stock rom for a couple of days. I ran linpack and was getting 38-40 average with an occasion drop to the low to mid 30's.

I am now on fresh 3.1, I do not have the kernel. I am still getting average of 38-40 with an occasional drop to the low to mid 30's.
edit: neither rom ever hit 41 for me.

I see no difference between the to roms as far as linpack goes anyway.

I will say that the fresh 3.1 runs sooo much better for me then his latest 2.1 version did. I did have the kernel for that rom tho. so I'm yet to try installing the kernel on this rom. everything I need is running smooth :)

have the same combo, but am noticing an issue:

Touch input on dolphin is either extremely SLOW or unresponsive altogether. Its really annoying and affects the user experience. Don't know why this might be.

i never understood using dolphin. my dad is not rooted and he has problems with dolphin all the time. i just stick with the stock browser.

are you currently rooted? if not, you will have to do toast's first step in rooting, then do the second step in rooting (unlocking nand). then flash to fresh 3.1

unlock nand (step 2) > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701835
