Id like to start off by saying i have been in florida for the past week and a half, so im not at home with broadband blindly bitching.

First issue i have is overall volume. It is way low, is this something a replacement will fix or is this the overall consensus?

Next, it gets hot as all hell, i got up to 115 by watching one 4 minute youtube video. I keep my brightness at minimum, so the heat issue is definitely bs to me.

Finally, about ten mins ago i walked into the room and see my phone at the moto screen, now im having random reboots?

This is really discouraging, and i hope it can be rectified by getting a replacement for this beautiful device.

The volume is lower than some other phones. It's just something you'll have to deal with. It shouldn't very low though. There might be an update in the works.

It will get warm at times. That's the nature of the beast. It won't melt.

I see "Rooted" in your sig. I have nothing against rooting, I did it to my Droid. However when you go that route all bets are off with regards to stability. If it wasn't rebooting before then you need to checkout the running services and apps. If you deleted stuff then you need to think back about what you deleted etc. My phone hasn't rebooted on its own since I got it on launch day.

I had thw comstant reboot issue and had it replaced. Although the rep "had to see the issue" in order to replace it. I was almost out the door of the store and it rebooted while in his hands.

Havnt exprienced this with my replacement. And I had a bbq at work, I love working by the beach, and had y droidy blasting like a true g.

I can confirm all the problems you are having with your DX I too am having with differing frequencies.

I have experienced at least once or twice having my phone randomly reboot whenever it wants. I also have had to install an app called Fast Reboot that essentially performs all the tasks like cache & memory clearing, of rebooting - all without actually rebooting your phone.

As far as heat goes my phone gets unacceptably hot when using 3G and GPS, or any functions really after about 15 minutes of use while on the road. This bothers me but is something I have remedied by actually holding my phone up to the AC vent at intervals while on the road.

It's important to remember that even though the heat shouldn't be occurring, it still is and it can damage your hardware incrementally over time. This is not something I am willing to have happen just because there are power management glitches in the code so I take the safe route.

I'd recommend doing a factory reset before assuming something is wrong with your phone. Or wait for the ota update to see if it clears up.

Btw not everyone who roots knows what they're doing. I'm not saying you don't but I've read of multiple issues from people either botching installs or deleting things they shouldn't be. Also because someone might have no issues rooting doesn't mean no one else will. There are just too many variables to consider.

It doesn't matter what's causing it now. His warranty is negated by rooting. Regardless if itscaused the problem. All i am saying is don't go crying about how motorola screwed him when he did it

Did you read my thread title or original post? I am simply asking if others were having any of the issues i am seeing.
I don't know your mother, but i am willing to bet that she has said "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" atleast once.

Thanks for your input/opinion, delivered in a civilized way on top of it! I know what you mean, and im not going to toot my own horn, but i will say i have not touched/deleted bloatware or files at all. I simply rooted to run root only apps, such as adfree and wifi tether.

Luckily we can all just ignore your posts because you have obviously not done your homework.

Couldn't the phone be rebooting due to the overheating? Seems to me like he has a legitimate problem. May be a good idea to unroot (btw Charlene, this will magically bring back the warranty) and trade for a new one if you keep having the overheating probs.

One more thing!! There is a post that has been stickied saying not to factory reset due to 3G issues...can't remember the exact wording but check it out before you reset.
