Root Just get Blank screen on boot

Hi,

First post... please help...

I think I bricked my o2 desire within 1 day

My aim was to upgrade to froyo.

I set up my GoldCard no problem.

I then upgraded the RUU to the following with no problems

RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed

Now my phone boots with no display, I hear the boot music and the phone is seen by the RUU upgrade if I go back in but no display...

Please help..

I did not know you needed a specific version for the SLCD screens.

I can't apply the above 1.21 version as I already applied the following to try and fix the problem

RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.22.771.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127568_signed

Now I'm on 1.22 and can't dowgrade as I get Error [140] Bootloader Version Error.

How can I downgrade to the version you guys mention without having access to the screen?

check on the back of your box, in the description, mine says 3"7 inch AMOLED screen.

Ahh mine just says 3.7" touch sensitive screen, so looks like slcd, hence the problems above!!
I think there was something in on of the links above, 'i bricked my flatmates desire' where they managed to get it back, however I'd be very tempted to take it back and plead ignorance and hope for the best?

P.s after all the angst of debranding, there's currently no froyo official upgrade for this software number, think it's on hold or something.

Do you know if it'll work with the Vodafone 1.24.161.3 ROM to downgrade to a stock HTC ROM?

You can try it (you will need a working goldcard). It won't do any harm if it fails to install.

However, because this contains 1.21.405.2 and the Vodafone update contains 1.24.161.3 it may think it's a downgrade and refuse to install.

You can still root the phone though and install a custom ROM (such as the rooted official 2.2 one, which has no branding).

Yeah I know, but I think I'm going to wait and see how people get on with the root/downgrade for SLCD screens with the Vodafone firmware before I try it myself lol.

If you have an SLCD desire, do not downgrade it unless using the RUU posted above. It will break the screen and force you to upgrade to stock 2.2 (and to do it without a working screen).
