Dealing with AT&T Exchanging Captivate

Heres the situation,

I have a Captivate and I love it. Two of my co-workers also have them. We all work in the same office, we bought them together through work.

Mine ALWAYS drops calls, like 3 or four times a day. My co-workers do not. I did a reset ect, and nothing seems to work.

So I want to exchange my Captivate for another one. Problem is there is a small ding on the left side of the phone. Will they give me a hassle about that? Got the phone two weeks ago.

Should I call AT&T tech support or do they not care?

Thanks!

What kind of sim card are you using? does it have AT&T in small letters, big letters, or still say cingular?

if you have an older sim card, that could be the problem, if not, then its definitely the phone. They shouldnt give you sass for it.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but in terms of sim cards what is to be considered old? I still have the card from my 3g. Does ATT charge you to swap it out?

The most current sim card is blue + white on the front, orange on the back, and has at&t in small letters

the iphone 3g came with a sim card that looked the same, except the at&t letters are bigger and take up the entire blue area.

Old would be cingular sim cards ahahah but unless you are getting reception issues you think is abnormal, your sim card should be fine

Thanks. As my iphones days were nearing the end a co-worker suggested switching out my sim card and having been a lifetime sprint customer it was a little foreign to me.

Mine had a small mark on the upper left hand side near the camera (Dropped it on some concrete while jogging in Mexico, luckily i had the presence of mind to tug the earphones and it softened the blow quite a bit). Took it to ATT a few days later, dropped it again in the store with the agent standing right in front of me, and he exchanged it no questions asked.
