Now that you put my mind to rest about the size of the X :D, any keyboard issues? Unlike, say, an IPhone that tells you above the keyboard what letter you are typing, the Droid lights up the letter. In the store, I found this a little awkward, since my finger was covering up the letter being typed. But the keyboard was also not working properly (probably beat to hell by countless users). Same question as with the size, problem or something you get used to and then it is no big deal?

The stock keyboard in landscape is really quite good. If you have really, and I mean REALLY small hands you might have trouble getting at the keys in the center of the screen with your thumbs. For me it is just perfect. The response is quick and you have a lot of things you can customize (or even download an entirely different keyboard if you want). You can add in the click sound, tactile feedback (vibration when you press a key) or you can use Swype which works quite well.

I love the speech to text option, especially for text messages. Though I will say, you get some eerie glances when you attempt to use it out in public.

I found myself trying out Swype, but I'm in love with the standard keyboard...it's so full and expansive. Though only major gripe is that it doesn't autocapitalize "I", and it doesn't seem to have haptic feedback.

When I'm typing a word my keyboard will often times type three or four of the same letters. When I go to delete, it will get stuck and delete everything I've typed so far.

Other times I type an "o" or "n" and it opens up a box with different variations of the letter.

Any suggetion? This is very annoying!!!

I'm surprised that you can't get the phone to auto-capitalize the letter, "i." I would check out the phone's settings and see if you can't change that somehow. To me, Haptic feedback would seem odd when using Swype. Sorry to hear about that too, though. I don't know if that's available with it or not. Besides, you know it drains your battery far more quickly than without. :p

AND DROID, it seems that you're pressing the, "o," and, "n," keys too long if you're seeing optional character windows pop up. Those are for choosing alternate letters with accents and such, for foreign languages. If you feel that you aren't pressing them too long, it may easily be software lag of some sort. Though, I somewhat doubt that considering the 1GHz CPU.

Do you have any keyboard modifications of some sort? Anything that you've changed that was there when the phone was new and stock? Try doing a factory reset if need-be.

I am pressing on the keys normally. I even tried altering the lenght of the press to see if it made a difference. My keyboard is stock.

I did a factory reset and it did not help. I also have issues when I try to select anything. If I tap on a widget, it will resize instead of open it. If I try to flick through the home pages it will lag or sometimes randomly open stuff I happen to touch.

Is there a way to calibrate the screen? I can't seem to find it in settings.

Honestly, I think I have a bad touch screen. I'm going to have to take it in. Are they still out of stock?

The "I" thing is annoying, and hopefully the next update will fix it.

If the factory reset didn't work, you should find someone with a Droid X or go to a Verizon store and play with the stock phone to compare with the one you have. If your phone is buggy, exchange it. Do you use Launcher Pro? I know when I made the app drawer into 3D mode, the app drawer was sensitive where a slight touch would open an app.

It really sounds like you're hard pressing everything...
