Question about quality of streaming videos

I am still in the process of debating phone/carrier. My priority for any phone is for the visuals when I am streaming videos through 4G. Hearing that the epic has a super amoled screen and that the captivate is beating competition, is this the way to go? I originally had my mind set on the Evo for the past couple weeks due to screen size. But hearing this makes me really want to know a little more about the Epic. Will the better visuals be noticeable when I am watching basketball games online, say through justin.tv, or the nba tv app?? Or is it only noticeable through things like gaming and HD videos??

I should also add that I plan to write/edit documents on my phone and I hear a hard keyboard is better for that as opposed to swype which is good for quick texts. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

If your priority is visuals then the Evo is the wrong choice. The screen is 16bit 65K colors while the epic is 24bit 16.7 million colors.

It's noticeable with everything from just going through the menus to browsing to playing games and watching videos, it's an amazing screen go check out a captivate or a vibrant at one of the stores and see for yourself!

Just make sure to clean up your drool from the display model, the store will appreciate that.

And the Epic is going to be the best of the galaxies with the 4G, front facing cam, and phys keyboard (if you like that) plus with Sprint's cheaper plans I think it would the better choice over the other galaxies. And the screen kills the EVO's and the cam quality is said to be better.

There's some decent videos out there with screen comparisons. You really can't beat Samsung's display. There's complaints that the whites aren't as crisp as they should be but the blacks look as dark as the surrounding plastic. If you were comparing a DX and the Samsung I'd say it's minimal. From what I've seen of the EVO it's pretty substantial.

I am admittedly biased though. I had an EVO for a day and returned it. Same with a DX. I'm pretty well set on an Epic.

While I haven't seen the Epic in person, I've definitely seen the Captivate and the screen is definitely superior to the Evo (to my eyes, anyway). It was crystal clear, sharp and the colors were vibrant. Don't get me wrong, the Evo is an impressive phone in its own right! But in my subjective opinion, the Captivate's screen appeared superior in every way (except the slightly smaller size, of course).

One thing I can't understand though....why in the world didn't Samsung include a flash with the cameras on their other Galaxy S phones?! The Epic is the only one getting a flash (great for us, not so great for AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon customers! LOL!). I'm glad it does come with a flash though. While not having a flash wouldn't have been a deal-breaker for me, it certainly would have made me think longer and harder about whether to go with the Evo instead.

I think it's going to take something pretty major for me to not want this phone. Everything I've read about the hardware and everything I've seen so far from the Captivate's display has me drooling with anticipation!
