Did you think about this at all? If you get the Pro, another phone better than it will be on its way. Cell phone companies right now are developing phones that are better than the Pro.

If you're really concerned about having the latest and greatest, buy the DX then sell it when the Pro comes out. Then sell the Pro when the next best thing comes out after that. At this rate, you'll never buy a new phone...

As long as the X gets 3.0 in a timely manner I am not sure that is going to be that big of a deal. The only thing I would like to see is the cameras to keep improving at the rate of the chipsets. 300 mhz difference is not that big of a deal. If it has a considerable more amount of ram that it can utilize, then that could be a different story.

I'm happy with my DX. I have it rooted. Overclocking is coming out, now. I can underclock and do all sorts of zany things with Beautiful Widgets, Launcher Pro Plus, Widgetlocker, etc. I'm in cellphone heaven. Maybe I'll get another phone in a year? Maybe I'll stay with the DX. I'm so happy. I can't remember ever being this happy with a phone before. I mean... it's so configurable.

That's why you do research ahead of time when buying a phone to see rumored and upcoming devices . I always do this, and did this when I wanted the Droid X. After everything, I came to the conclusion that the Droid X had everything I could ever want in a phone and more, and the next android devices coming out wouldn't be too big of an upgrade for my needs.

Also, this is why I haven't bought a new laptop in 5 years. I can't justify spending the money when so much new technology comes out so quickly, especially with computers. With phones it's easier because what I do is change up every year or so and sell my old phone and get the 199 deal from Verizon. So it really evens out in terms of price.

No offense but unless you live under a rock you have to know that there are new phones coming out every few months. I can't understand why someone wouldn't want newer and better phones to come out, if anything it gives you more choices.

You can't expect to always have the latest and greatest phone, it's a losing battle unless you are willing to shell out big bucks every 6 months.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it was speculated that there would be 2ghz phones come the end of the year. That would make the 1.3 "droid pro" obsolete before it even comes out.

I have had 6 or 7 smartphones in the last two to three years and all the time they are coming out with something new. It is how companies exist. If we were happy with the same thing all the time we would not buy new stuff. Personally at my age I love it. Glad I have been living in this age of tech, however, I am presently happy with my X and Incredible. I should be working for VZW and selling these things.

I will be receiving my X today and I will say that after having a Blackberry this will be plenty enough phone for me. I think I will keep the X cause like it says there is always something new waiting in the wings. And I am by no means rich enough to keep swapping to the latest and greatest every few months.....

It won't be long until a droid "phone" will have enough physical storage and CPU strength to replace a desktop. I'm waiting on the device that plugs into a "base" to charge and has a keyboard, monitor, and mouse connected. Google apps... Voila... no more Microsoft Windows.

Really?? Is there confirmation on that? 4" screen with a slideout is too much imo. I agree 4" is the sweet spot and world phone capabilities would be great for me personally. Hopefully pics come out soon.

Any time you buy new technology, especially cellular technology, you are going to find a newer, better model within months of your purchase. It is the nature of technology. If you are going to try to keep up, plan on never owning a phone for more than a couple of months.

So that's why I purchased my Inc outright on release day, and now I've done the same with the DX.

I'll probably do the same thing with the Droid Pro comes out - gotta do my part for restarting the economy, you know.

I really like the form factor and features of the Evo4G. I really wish Verizon would bring out something like this. I like the DroidX but don't like the lack of a front facing camera and the "hump" on the end to house the camera. I really hope that the Droid Pro is a consistent thickness like the iPhone 4 and Evo 4G. Also - a 4" screen seems to be a great size.

But if the Droid Pro has a slide out keyboard I will not buy it. I only want a touch screen.

It is weird though that the slide outs are making a resurgence with the Black Berry Tourch, Droid2 and Epic 4G. It seems that the three latest and greatest phones from Moto, HTC and RIM all have slide outs.
