Is there an app to turn off the internet?

I have an app that allows me to turn off/on my bluetooth and wifi with one click but can't seem to find one that turns off the GPRS data connection.

I've gone into turn off the Background data but i still get the arrow pointing away from the phone at the top under the "H" symbol showing that data is still being transmitted intermittently. I have set my facebook, email and weather etc to update manually.

the only way that i can stop the arrows under the H from flashing (i presume thats the gprs transfering data) is to have my wifi on then the "H" goes away. But I am trying to conserve battery so i would like to have wifi, bt and gprs off until i need it.

You can use APNdroid to disable your internet usage by having it mess up the APN settings, and thus make the cell phone unable to connect to the providers internet networks:

I'm not sure this is exactly what you're looking for, but I just got my Desire a couple days ago (first good Android phone in Canada with a data plan that's not extortion!) and I found this AMAZING app for turning off the data just when you're not using it. It's free, but there's a paid version with more cusomization... not really necessary TBH but I'll probably buy it because it's such a great app.

Anyways it's called "Juice Defender" or maybe "Juicedefender". Whenever the screen turns off, it disables the data connection, UNLESS it's being actively used, like if you're downloading or streaming something. Then, every 15 minutes it turns the data back on for 1 minute and disables it again (unless it's still downloading something, which it will wait for), allowing things to sync without unnecessarily draining the battery.

If battery savings is what you're trying for, this is the perfect solution.

I was having similar thoughts a few days ago. What I want is a single widget that I can press on to turn my phone to a night profile (wi-fi off, data off, bluetooth off and silent) and press again to turn it to a day profile (everything on) - a bit like the excellent "Silent Toggle Widget" by Droidmainia.

Having read another post, it seems that timeriffic might well do the job.

Hi,

I just downloaded this app and it looks good, thanks.
Do you know if there is a way you can change the settings to update every hour instead of every 15 mins?

Thanks
Nat
