Help google voice search w/earpiece in?

My google voice search doesn't work when my earpiece is plugged in. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I don't use a bluetooth- I use an earpiece that utilizes the headphone jack.

This is quite possible, as once the 3.5mm is used, maybe the phone assumes you have a mic connected to that. I bought a headset with a mic for this specific reason (not to use the voice search, but so I can answer calls while listening to music).

I am having the exact same problem. When I plug in the included Samsung wired headset with built in microphone, the voice search options....i.e. google voice search, navigation voice input, text via voice....basically all the voice to text feautetes do not work. It is as if the phone doesn't even pick up the voice. However during a phone call people can hear me just fine, so i know its not a faulty headset with mic.

can anyone else confirm this problen!

You are not alone, dear friends. I have the same problem: voice input does not work through my headset, even though I can use it for conversations just fine. I found this thread while looking for a solution.

What does work is voice searching using BlueTooth: when I'm in a car that supports it, I can press the call button, say the name of the person I want to call, and it will call a number (usually the number of somebody with a similar name, not the person I'm actually looking for ;)). But since I'm not usually in a car like that, that doesn't help much. What I really want is to be able to use voice input for SMS while driving! Oh well, I guess people will just have to wait until I'm stuck at traffic lights before getting desperately-needed text messages. :p

Cheers,
MikZ.
