Keeping Screen on when using Google Maps

Anyone know how to keep the screen on while in google maps? Especially while plugged into the car charger. I get annoyed of having to turn the phone on and then unlocking it.... then having gmaps reload to my location while I'm driving.

In my previous TPro, there was a setting where I could just keep the screen on if my phone was plugged in.

I use the free program Toggle Screen Timeout, which lets you toggle between your timeout setting and no timeout. I have it on my home screen and toggle timeout off before using Google maps.

The Stay awake function behaved funny the one time I tried it. In any case, it's a lot easier to toggle it on and off with one screen press than to bore down through three menus to make the change.

Screebl

Go get it now. Keeps phone awake based on the angle of the phone. Great app.

Ok, I downloaded this and it is amazing. I adjusted the settings in both landscape and portrait mode and then I got to thinking. Is there any way to incorporate this with the phone app? I think a developer could use this app and incorporate it with a way to turn the screen off while making a call.

After making a call with Sceebl I had to remove it. The app is nice and has a possibility to be great, but it kept my screen on during my phone call, which was over an hour long. Leading to a large battery drain.

I just grabbed Screen Mode Widget yesterday and it works perfectly.

Allows for placing the phone in three separate modes with just a click.
Standard, go to sleep like normal.
Sleep the screen, but stay awake.
Just flat out, stay awake.

This works better than Screebl in my opinion because it doesn't matter what orientation the phone is in to remain awake.

Hmm, I will have to keep an eye out for that. I noticed before screebl, my phone would go dark when on a call, even if I woke it up to look at something it would go dark again.

Actually just tested this and the phone does turn off. You can tell by the icon in the notification tray. If it is green, then you are at an angle where the phone will stay on, if it is gray, it will turn off.

I have mine set to high frequency, and when I turn the phone to put it to my ear (like on a call) the icon goes gray and the phone does turn off after 15 seconds (my timeout)
