is the HTC Droid Incredible for me?

So I am getting a new phone soon, and I am going to purchase my first android. I have been looking around trying to figure out just what I want, and from most the reviews I have heard good things about the Incredible. I am a little concerned with battery life, though. Anyway, I just wanted to ask all you Incredible owners and users if you would reccomend this phone. I would use it for standard messaging and calling, but also for navigation because I get lost often. And also, can I put music from my computer onto this phone?
Any advice is appreciated
Thanks

yeah i like it and would recommend it to you if your concerned about the battery just buy and extended one or a car charger for when your using navigation texting is very good but some people say they have problems with calls but i do not

The Incredible is my first smartphone and I love it.

I haven't had any problems with calls either. I've seem a lot of people complaining about the reception bars, but not about calls dropped. In my book, those are two different beasts. I couldn't care less how many bars I have, as long as I have good call quality and it doesn't drop. So far I've had good reception and no dropped calls.

Out of all the high end android phones available at the moment, the Incredible is the most reliable phone that's on Verizon, the best network. HTC is just a better manufacturer than Motorola or Samsung.

Also, I'm assuming by your name that you are female and have smaller hands than the average dude. If you are and do, you won't be able to use the bigger phones (Droid X, Evo, Galaxy S) without using two hands. I have big hands and I couldn't manipulate the entire touch screen on the Droid X with my thumb, while holding it in the same hand. Something to think about.

The battery life is great, a lot of these guys are power users so they need JUICE! If you use the bump charge method and are an average user you will be more than fine.

I've never had an issue with signal quality/call quality. (Not saying anyone else hasn't).

The screen is beautiful!

The audio is way better than my old iPhone so if you are a music freak like me you will love the Incredible.

Reception has been no issue for me. Call quality is great! And I have to say, I haven't been scared off by the stock battery yet. I charge my phone nightly, and the stock Inc battery is lasting me until I go to charge at night. That's without bump charging.

Right now, I have probably 30 percent left, and I've had the phone off of the charger for about 14 hours. If I bump charge it (charge the phone until the green light comes on, then power off the phone and charge until you get the green light again) I would be around 50 percent remaining now.

Today, for example, I had about 60 minutes of talk time, 30 emails, a handful of text messages, some market downloads, and I played a few games.

Oh and in addition to this, regarding the battery life, I have noticed a HUGE battery life improvement since I put the newest leaked froyo OTA on my phone. So much so, that I took out my extended life battery and switched back to the stock battery. And I am ridiculous with how much I use this phone.

So, if you are a bit patient after you get the phone, you'll get the android 2.2 update, and won't have any battery issues at all.

You won't be disappointed with the Incredible. It has enough horsepower to run the next couple of Android OS's and with Sense it is easy to customize to your liking. The processor speed makes navigation very good and responsive plus you can use voice nav as well as maps to get where your going. The stock messaging app is a bit weak and kinda bland but there are a lot of choices on the market for messaging apps. There is plenty of storage to install apps and try them out. Just delete them if they don't suit you. The call quality is excellent - probably the best of any phone I've owned. Some of the more data intensive, network and gps apps can wear the battery down but it's the same for any smart phone. I get a full day's use and still have 40% or so battery left at the end of the day. Bump charging does help! I know you say you will use it for many of the standard features but once you get it and start exploring you will be hooked like the rest of us!
