Help Any body lose album covers, or artists names in music player after update ?

Same thing happened to me but after a day everything came back. Use Mp3tag to make sure your album art is actually embedded into the .mp3 file and not just linked to the album art in the folder in ways windows media player does. This way if your computer crash but you still have your songs you won't have to spend an entire day finding album art again.

The same thing happened to me, many of my songs are now listed under unknown artist. However, the songs that have been changed to unknown artist were all of the songs that I ripped from my CD's. All of the songs that I brought in from itunes and Amazon still show up normally.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

Thanks

I have tried the following and still no luck. Retagging music using media monkey, dropping albumart.jpg files in the album folders (htc's suggestion), I have checked the files in itunes and media monkey and all files show artist, title, and art work properly, I have done soft resets after everything, and I cleaned out all of my music performed a factory reset and tried to put the music back and it is still doing the same thing. Here are the facts:

1. All music was perfect pre froyo.

2. All my albums/songs that I had ripped from CD are the ones that now show up as unknown artist.

3. All problem songs are wma format

4. All files show up normal in media monkey.

Anyone else with any suggestions? Thanks

Hi BlkKC4u, I tried adding the artist name and that didn't work either.

However, I was able to make things work by using mediamonkey to convert all of the .wma files to .mp3 files and load the .mp3 files back onto my EVO. The songs are now listed under each artist properly. While I was at it I also used mediamonkey to add the album art to all of my ripped music that did not previously have the album art.

It looks to me like the froyo update has caused some sort of issue reading the album/artist info with .wma files.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Go into the song file on ur EVO and put artist name into album artist column..Worked for me!

Could you explain how to do this?

I've re mounted my SD card and it didn't work for me either. I don't have any unknown artist cept for one ring tone I have. But some of my album art is missing. I have all my album art in itunes and on my IPod Touch.
Would be great if I could get it to work in my EVO.
Yes I'm an obsessive/compulsive. So it will drive me nuts till I fix it.

I tried through the music player and through Astro and can't find how to edit any info for the song. I couldn't even find where to display the info cept for in the properties off the menu in the music player. And it shows all fields filled out properly.

I compared the songs with album art to the ones without and can't find any differences in there or in Astro.
