Car Home Opens When It Shouldn't

Lately I've noticed that whenever I go to unlock my phone, it's already unlocked and the car home is running. This is winding me up because pulling my phone out of its case or my pocket while it's unlocked means I've accidentally changed the volume and taken a picture for example.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Car home "should" only self-activate when the phone is placed into the car dock or, when and if a magnet comes in close proximity to the rear of the phone in the same location that the car dock would.

Does the case that you carry it in have a magnetic clasp? Do you wear any sort magnetic therapy jewelry?

Just a couple thoughts....

Do you keep it around a magnet? Maybe in a case that has a magnet to close it or something? If you do, that's your problem. The Droid has a magnet in it that automatically puts it in car mode, so just get rid of the magnet and it will solve your problem.

That's what I was thinking too, but the case doesn't have a magnet. All it has is a little metal badge logo on it. Ive tried running the phone over it in different places and can never seem to get it to purposely open the dock. :/

In a darkened room, with your clothes off do you notice if your testicles glow?

No more than usual, no.

I feel like a bit of a fruit but thanks to your comments I tried to set it off with my case again but this time with a playful vehemence and strong-willed determination I found the flaw.

Turns out it's only when I happen to put the phone in my case BACKWARDS or if I set it on top that the back sensor lines up to the slightly magnetized badge and opens the car dock. So I guess as long as I'm careful to keep the phone in it the right way round I shouldn't have a problem.

I guess the issues with it opening in my pocket must have been from the car home already being active from the case from before.

I guess the lesson here is to keep your phone cases away from magnets. I wouldn't be surprised if it got its slight charge from the phone itself as I have been making a habit of setting it on top of the case while it's sitting on my desk.

In any case (pun intended) thanks for the feedback. You guys seems nice and this forum seems pretty cool, I'll be sure to recommend it to my cat.

off topic ...

I love cardockV2 from the market (free) has 5 screens and you can put 6 shortcuts per screen :)

I've tried it but I can't stand how it distorts your app icons by stretching them to such an ungodly resolution. I'd like to think it was designed by a blind person, in the dark with a bag on his head.

I've actually been toying with the idea of making my own car dock app which, rather than stretching the icons, just sits them in the center of a larger button.

You know I had a similar issue with a pair of cargo shorts I wore =/. The metal buttons and stuff on it set off my Moto Dock, not car home but essentially the same problem. Also when I put it on top of my laptop the phone goes into Dock mode lol. Only thing I could suggest is making sure you dont have any magents, or heavy metals in the pocket with your phone. (or you can get a app =x)

Holy Crap!

I actually AM a blind person in the dark and occasionally wear a bag on my head!

I need one of these apparently...
