if anyone is interested ** vlingo ** is now free

Loved Vlingo on my Blackberry. REALLY like what they have done with it since I stopped using it when I first bought the Droid.

Voice recognition far superior to stock voice search and the features are awesome. Just sayin is all.

Now, get Froyo out to us X guys so I can slober over Google Activate.

I agree..Vlingo was good for blackberry

Just noticed that it's free and I must say it has some really cool features! And the UI is pretty good too. However, opening apps isn't working that great for me. When I say "open calculator" it works, but trying stuff like "Open Yelp" just inputs "open yelp" as a google search. So, clearly it's hearing me correctly, but it's not opening the app. Any tips?

Love Vlingo on the X. Been using it for a few weeks and have had great results. Did the 2.2 upgrade and the widget quit working. Decided to try the new google commands feature on 2.2 and found (with a sigh...) that I wasn't able to "voice command" an email to any contact that wasn't in my gmail contacts.... WHAT?!?!?!

I have alot of contacts sync'd from my corporate email and couldn't text, email, or call by voice command to any of these contacts. Found a Google article on this and it's a known limitation. Very surprised that a 3rd party app would be able to do this, yet Google would leave this out.

Flashed back to 2.1 to regain the widget functionality for Vlingo. (Also flashed back due to some bugs that drove me crazy.) At this point, I'd still pay for Vlingo over the 'new' google voice commands on froyo.

FYI I have no issue with the widget in 2.2

Hmmm... I also had the FC with the battery manager which others have said they haven't gotten. Wonder if there was a conflict with something else I had running....

THE BATTERY MANAGER THING comes and goes. I'll bet those that say they don't have a FC have since had a FC. But I've had no issue with the Vlingo widget. You can launch it from the icon if you have to, it takes one extra click that way but at least you can use it.
