Help Att unlock code

I have never had an issue getting an unlock code for free from At&t, but then I have been a good customer, pay my bill for about 8 years now.

I do recall there was some law passed recently (last few years) that requires them to give it up, not sure if there is a time period. My last one I just sent an email and requested it. I got a reply with complete instructions and the codes for my Blackberry and Motorola Razr.

In the old days before that law, I would just call their international division and tell them a little white lie. I would say I was going to travel outside the US and wanted to unlock my device so I could use pre-paid SIM internationally.

Good Luck.

Hello,

I was told that these two methods can be used for sim-unlocking the phone:

cellcorner.com/xshp/unlock-phone-codes/cingular-unlock-by-code.html
enter unaccepted sim card, enter the code

cellcorner.com/xshp/unlock-phone-codes/universal-unlock-sim-unisim.html

Anyone dare to try with AT&T US simlocked Dell Streak???

Would very much like to hear the results !!!

the phone will not be unlocked. was informed by AT&T that as per there contract by dell they will not unlock.

contacted DELL informed they can't unlock. but the roomer is in 10 days they will sell the the unlocked versions

"Per corporate agreements with Dell and AT&T Mobility we cannot assist you with your unlock code request."

i have someone high up in AT&T asking and will see if its AT&T who needs to do the unlocking or dell.

so i have two unopened boxes in my hands with a return box arriving in 7 days so if i cant unlock the phones ill get my money back

Hey fellow 'droids'... just a quick note to lt you know I was called by an AT&T representative yesterday afternoon 09.02.10 he was responding to the request I put in 10 days ago for an unlock code request ticket. He DID indeed give me the unlock code for my phone. I live in Central Texas U.S., previously using the Rebel SimII. I removed the rebel sim, rebooted the unit and was immediately greeted with the 'enter code' screen. I entered the code sent by AT&T and viola! It is working fine. So there IS hope folks, just be persistent!

Enjoy!!

To use an AT&T phone on another wireless network, you must unlock its SIM using an Unlock Code.

AT&T will provide the Unlock Code for phones on wireless plans if:
Your wireless service has been active for 90 days or longer
Your account is current and in good standing
Your phone is not sold exclusively by us
Your phone's Unlock Code is available from the Manufacturer
Please call Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500 to determine if your device can be unlocked, and for assistance unlocking your handset.
