I'm still going with the Epic, but I will be looking to purchase through one of the third party vendors. I want to avoid the $100 rebate waiting game since this is going to cost me an additional $50. In the end I guess the $50 really makes little difference to me since I am porting my number from Verizon. I'm looking forward to the lower monthly cost of ownership after being raped for the past 6 years.

I am still getting the Epic in a couple of months, I want to see the support they give on this phone, also want to see if the GPS works as I read other Samsung Galaxy S have GPS issues and they have not been addressed. so will give it a little time first to see.

Samsung has already announced they are working on the issue, and to expect a fix sometime next month.

Seriously. Sprint is gouging at $249.99. Not to mention the $69.99 plan requirement + $10 4G charge.

4G is unimpressive. We have it. I've speed tested it in a store. Yawn.

My contract isn't up until October. If I could switch carriers today I probably would bail to Verizon. If I can get my hands on an EVO or Epic for $199 I might stay though Verizon service is cheaper (I get a 15% discount).

You must have unlimited texts, unlimited data and basically unlimited voice (so i will give you the first tier voice plan that includes any 5 numbers on a single line even though it's not near as good as anymobile anytime).

Calculate that plan with a 15% discount and you will be above the $69.99 EPRP plan on Sprint that INCLUDES the $10/mo 4G charge.

Hey, people aren't being ignorant. They all just have different needs. Look at what sprint offers, tons of features, Free GPS, free sprint TV, unlimited mobile to mobile, etc. However if you rarely talk on your phone, verizon's 450 min plan is essentially the same as sprint's. I can say with 100% honesty, based on my own personal needs from a phone provider, that an individual sprint plan is $87/month before taxes (69.99 + 4g fee + $7 TEP plan) and verizon on a single plan would be $60 (unlimited txting and 450 mins phone) + $30 unlimited data + $7 full protection plan $90/month. However since I am in NJ where a vast majority of people have verizon, including my sister, if I get verizon I can go on a family plan, which would allow the monthly costs to be exactly the same on verizon as sprint. both would be $80/month for service plus $7 protection plans. Yes there are differences in the plans, and yes everyone has different needs and situations. However as far as I am concerned, sprint and verizon cost the same. AT&T is the expensive one with poor coverage, and Tmobile just isn't an option due to crappy phones and the fact that they don't even exist in the state I go to college in.

I will say that the comparisons I seem some people on these forums make trying to compare plans is ridiculous, how they put a $10 gps fee on at&t but not verizon, especially when it is pointless because android doesn't even require you to pay for those silly carrier gps plans when they have google navigation. However just because it is cheaper for you, doesn't mean it is cheaper for everyone. I think we all just need to stop saying our opinions on carrier pricing, because it is all just a big waste of time.

Unless i'm missing something, 60+30+7=97, not 90. But your points are well taken. Because people's needs are different they should say THIS particular carrier is best for me BECAUSE i only need such and such. But when people make blanket statements such as, "Verizon is just as cheap as Sprint" they are being deceitful and not presenting a clear picture of the situation.

I could care less, Sprint will save me and my wife money and we will be able to make video calls Plus when we add kids to the lines and they want "cool data phones" we will only pay $15 each for them instead of $10 +$30 for each of them.

I'm still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Epic. I'm currently on AT&T on a low tier family plan. My wife and I both have iPhones. It STILL comes out to close to $100 a line. When I went and test drove the Droid X for a day my estimated bill was $100 a month. That's with VERY minimal talk time.

On Sprint I'll be getting 25% off a month PLUS the initial cost of the plan is lower. Pretty easy decision for me. Now if I could just get my wife off he iCrack
